Wash. government employee says he was ordered not to listen to Rush Limbaugh

On Friday, a man identified only as "Rob," a county employee from somewhere in Washington state, told radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh that he was ordered not to listen to "opinionated" political talk shows, specifically, the Rush Limbaugh program, during work hours. The order, Rob said, came during a staff meeting last December.
The caller told Limbaugh he asked for the order in writing, and received it. According to the order, Rob was ordered to "refrain from playing or listening to opinionated talk show radio stations during work hours." He is allowed to listen during his break, however, but only as long as he is in his car with the windows rolled up.
"Wait, wait, wait, wait," Limbaugh said. "I'm not catching this all. Are you saying that you could...? They granted you permission to listen to it in your car if you had your window rolled up?"
"Only on my break," the caller said. Limbaugh then verified the caller was not allowed to listen during normal work hours.
But, the caller said, that wasn't the real disturbing part of the order. According to Rob, he could be punished for listening to Limbaugh during work hours. "Warning: Failure to abide by this directive will be considered insubordination and therefore will subject the violator to disciplinary action," the order reportedly said.
"Now, what about other radio stations?" Limbaugh asked. "Can employees during work hours listen to, say, all-God radio? Can they listen to Top 40 radio? Can they listen to Chinese opera? Can they listen to whatever they want to listen to."
Rob told Limbaugh employees could listen to whatever they wanted, except for certain talk shows. He further said that he feels discriminated against as a result of the order.
"It's hard to go to work now," he said. "I just feel like I'm... I don't even know how to explain it." According to Rob, the shop he works in has listened to Limbaugh for some 20 years.
"It doesn't seem like I'm in America," he added. "After the e-mail, I said, 'Good-bye America.' I don't know if you go out... You read it, but I just... I don't even know where I'm at, even. How can someone of that stature dictate what goes into my ears, you know?"
"You're dealing with flat-out anti-conservative discrimination in your office, flat-out anti-Rush discrimination," Limbaugh said later in the exchange. "They're just afraid to hear it. You're probably enjoying yourself. They don't like that. They don't want to subject themselves to this. They're the ones bothered by it, offended by it. They're taking it out on you, and they're probably of the mind-set that you're not gonna do anything about it."
"You're not gonna challenge them on it, and you'll just obey," he added. "But I know that you're not gonna give up the program."
Limbaugh also said Rob is not the first to be treated in such a way. "This has been going on for the longest time," he said.
In 2013, for example, we reported that a Christian soldier with 25 years of service was ordered not to read books by conservative authors. Master Sgt. Nathan Sommers also reportedly faced retribution for anti-Obama stickers on his car and serving Chick-fil-A sandwiches at his promotion party.
Limbaugh said the reason for orders like these is that liberals feel threatened by conservatives. "So they're behaving like tyrants, and that's who they are," he said. "They're little miniature dictators, and you have fallen under their ability to wield power on you."

In this, the land of the free and the home of the brave.' The freedom we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep. But tyrants labored, endlessly while your parents were asleep. Your freedom gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave. In this, the land of the free and home of the brave. You buy permits to travel, and permits to own a gun. Permits to start a business, or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in choosing, how the money's spent. Your children must attend a school that doesn't educate. Your Christian values can't be taught, according to the state. You read about the current news, in a regulated press. You pay a tax you do not owe, to please the I.R.S. Your money is no longer made of Silver or of Gold. You trade your wealth for paper, so your life can be controlled. You pay for crimes that make our Nation, turn from God in shame. You've taken Satan's number, as you've traded in your name. You've given government control, to those who do you harm. So they can padlock churches, and steal the family farm. And keep our country keep in debt, put men of God in jail. Harass your fellow countrymen, while corrupted courts prevail. Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oath they've sworn. Your daughters visit doctors, so their children won't be born. Your leaders ship artillery, and guns to foreign shores. And send your sons to slaughter, fighting other people's wars. Can you regain the freedom for which we fought and died? Or don't you have the courage, or the faith to stand with pride? Are there no more values for which you'll fight to save? Or would you have your children, live in fear and be a slave? People of the Republic, arise and take a stand! Defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the Land! Preserve your Great Republic, and God-Given Right! And pray to God, to keep the torch of Freedom burning bright! As I awoke he vanished, in the mist from whence he came. His words were true, we are not Free, we have ourselves to blame. For even now as tyrants, trample each God-Given Right. We only watch and tremble, too afraid to stand and fight. If he stood by your bedside, in a dream, while you're asleep, And wonders what remains of our Rights he fought to keep. a. if YES, do you support the transparency amendment that asks vendors to post what student data they collect and share?

E.W. Jackson talks to Christians about voting their faith and not an commitment to a political party:
I’m Bishop E.W. Jackson, coming to you not as a candidate for office, but as a Pastor and brother in Christ. Did you know that only 25% of self-identified evangelical Christians voted in 2012. Thirty million did not vote. Black Christians on the other hand overwhelmingly vote for candidates who could care less about God, or about the lives of unborn children or about preserving marriage as a union between one man and one woman.
Imagine what would happen if Christians, instead of voting race or party, got together and voted for candidates who uphold Biblical principles regardless of party? We would elect Godly people who believe in our Constitution and founding principles and our nation would begin to rise again.
Instead we have allowed ourselves to be divided by race. Black and Hispanic Christians – Protestant and Catholic vote by and large for Democrats who then ATTACK the very churches and faith we say we love.
In California, churches have now been ordered to pay for abortions. California is controlled by Democrats. In Houston, the first openly lesbian mayor has subpoenaed the sermons of a group of Pastors to see what they are saying about homosexuality and about her. They could face contempt and imprisonment for failure to comply. The mayor of a Houston is a Democrat. What is it going to take to wake us up? What does God have to do to get our attention?
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Christians are being denied employment, fired from their jobs, losing their businesses, facing discipline in the military and problems in school for daring to stand up for marriage as a union between one man and one woman. This is pushed by Democrats and yet Christians vote for them. To keep voting for these people is destructive of our pastors, our churches, our Constitution and our society. How long do you think God will put up with that?
Christians should be committed first and foremost to Jesus, not to a President. To principle, not party. To righteousness, not race. And to action, not apathy.
I’ve heard the excuse that Democrats help the poor. Do you really think we can defy God on the one hand and prosper on the other? The only thing Democrats have done is create more poor people – more unemployed, higher black unemployment, and lower income for those who are working. Democrats want a captive and dependent group of people who will vote for them at election time. Where are the poorest black communities in America? Where are most young black men being murdered? In cities controlled by Democrats? What are Democrats doing about it? Nothing!
So you think Democrats love black, Hispanic and poor people? They reward some of our so called Civil Rights leaders if they support Planned Parenthood’s mass abortion of our babies and march in the gay rights parade. But stand up with dignity and courage as a black or Hispanic Christian man or woman and say this is against the word of God and I will not support it or vote for those who do. You will quickly find out how much they really hate you.
Let’s make history. Let’s stand together as Christians – Not as black or white or Hispanic, but as people who love the Lord and uphold the truth. The question is not whether the candidate is a Republican or Democrat. The question is, “who is on the Lord’s side?” Vote for candidates who honor God in the positions they take. Do not sell your soul and vote against the Word of God for the sake of the Democrat Party.
