BIG difference is that Kate is being taken care of in a "private
hospital" not a NHS (National Health Service) hospital. Lucky Kate does
not have to deal with U.K. socialized medicine.
Kate Middleton Pregnant: Impact on Royal Family:
Praying for the Royal Family Prayers for the Royal Family
Kate Middleton has been hospitalized. The Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant and has been diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. On Dec. 3, the palace released an official statement about the new royal baby and also broke the news that Kate will be in the hospital for several days (via PEOPLE Magazine). So what exactly is Hyperemesis Gravidarum?
By definition, Hyperemesis Gravidarum is "extreme, persistent nausea and vomiting during pregnancy that may lead to dehydration." While vomitting can be common in pregnancy. some women develop this condition. This not only makes you feel miserable, but it can lead to weight loss and other problems.
Kate Middleton was hospitalized on Monday, the same day that the official royal baby announcement was made. Many moms experience this very unpleasant pregnancy "side effect" and all would agree that it is not fun. There are plenty of moms out there who feel Kate's pain.
Middleton will likely be given anti-nausea medication and she will be kept hydrated via IV to help counteract the Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Although being in the hospital is scary, it really is the best place for Kate right now. She needs to stay quiet and get as much rest as she can. Hopefully this will pass and will not last throughout her whole pregnancy.
Kate Middleton hospitalized isn't happy news and sort of takes the fun out of the wonderful baby news, but everyone hopes that she recovers quickly so that she can enjoy being barefoot and pregnant.
