Ariana Grande Cancelled the American Music Awards For 2019 Due To A Concert Tour Ariana Grande Is Loyal To Her Ticket Concert Fans
Ariana Grande hasn't been to any award shows in 2019 so far. That isn't changing tonight. The singer, who is nominated for six American Music Awards, will not be at the Los Angeles ceremony. Blame it on work. Grande is currently on her Sweetener world tour. She has a show night in Tampa, pretty far away from the West Coast awards show.
Grande, by the way, is nominated for Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist - Pop/Rock, Favorite Album - Pop/Rock (Thank U, Next), Tour of the Year, Favorite Music Video ("7 Rings"), and Favorite Social Artist.
Grande
revealed last weekend that she has been sick, although she has
recovered enough in the last couple days to resume concerts.
“Hi
everyone so I have a quick health update, I just finished my show in
Charlottesville and I’ve been sick since the last show in London,” she
wrote on Instagram. “I’ve been coughing and had this like crazy sinus
infection thing that has not gone away for a really long time. I haven’t
been able to really get better and tonight during the show tonight my
head was really splitting and heavy and my glands really hurt and I’m
trying to figure out what’s going on.”
“I’m
scared that I might have to cancel some things, so this is kind just a
heads up of like I don’t know what’s happening with my body,” she
continued. “And I’m really disappointed and freaked out of why I can’t
get better because it’s been over three weeks at this point.”
Grande
ended up canceling her Lexington, Kentucky show last Sunday but bought
40 fans lunch there who came out to support her when her concert would
have been. Shellye Echeverria, who co-runs a fan account on Twitter,
@GrandeTourNews Twitter, told the Lexington Herald Leader that
Grande got her in contact with an assistant, and the assistant planned a
lunch for the group at Saul Good Restaurant & Pub.
