The annual NFL championship game will be played at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on Feb. 2.

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will hustle for football fans at the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
The singers shared the news Thursday on Twitter, with the NFL confirming the news shortly after.

It doesn’t get any bigger than this! So excited about getting on that #SuperBowlLIV #PepsiHalftime stage!" Shakira also shared on Twitter.

The annual NFL championship game will be played at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium on Feb. 2. Lopez and Shakira's performance would follow a string of high-profile pop artists in recent years, including Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and more.

"Throughout the years, Pepsi has had a strong heritage in music, working with a range of artists from Britney Spears to Ray Charles to Beyoncé. The Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show has become one of the most iconic and anticipated music performances of the year, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome Jennifer Lopez and Shakira to the stage," Pepsi vp marketing Todd Kaplan said in a statement. "These two remarkable artists are setting a new precedent for what this show can become, and we’re confident that this will be an incredible performance for the ages."

Added Pepsi senior vp sports, media and entertainment Adam Harter: "We’ve been working closely behind-the-scenes with our long-standing partners at the NFL, and now alongside Roc Nation to bring these mega superstars together. It is a testament to our partnership and commitment to push the envelope of what is possible."

When Lopez was asked in July whether she would be likely to take the Miami stage come February, the singer coyly responded to Entertainment Tonight, "Yeah, I've thought about the Super Bowl and it’s in Miami. It’s a big deal, but we’ll see. They make their own decisions over there."

The singer also stayed mum when asked about the rumors during a sit-down with Hoda Kotb for SiriusXM. "I don't know," she responded when asked if she'd perform.

Adding more fire to the rumors, Lopez recently shared a video on Instagram promoting the kickoff of NFL's new season. "Football is finally back, and this season is special," she says in the video. "One hundred years of the game we all love, filled with images to remember forever. And now it's time for the next story to be written. The 100th chapter."

Jay Z, whose Roc Nation partnered with the NFL to consult on its entertainment presentations, including the Super Bowl Halftime Show, also addressed the buzz that Lopez or artists such as Pitbull or Enrique Iglesias (who also have strong ties to Miami) could perform during the game. "We had this conversation. You can't go to a city, plop a show down and then leave," the rapper responded. "Like, at least speak to the community." He added, "Sometimes it may happen and it may wind up that the person is from the city that they perform, but you don't want to get in that space, 'cause then, again, who performs in Tampa?"

Lopez performed on Super Bowl eve in 2018 ahead of Timberlake's halftime show for the DIRECTNOW Super Saturday Night concert. As for Shakira, the upcoming halftime performance won't be her first time entertaining for a sports-dominated audience, as the Colombian singer performed the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)."

The news arrives amid a prominent year for the singer. Lopez and former MLB star Alex Rodriguez announced their engagement in March after dating for two years. She also embarked on a successful It’s My Party tour throughout the summer, and is also getting Oscar buzz for her role in her latest film, Hustlers.
