In 1992, Brooks & Dunn released “Neon Moon” as the third single from their Brand New Man album. It went to No. 1 and is one of their most well known hits, which is probably why Kacey Musgraves has decided to cover it while out on the Breakers Tour with Little Big Town. Kacey’s version is a little less full-bodied than the original, but it’s also a little more haunting and the addition of the synthesizer and vocoder makes it sound like Bon Iver and Daft Punk took on a Kacey song, while being heavily influenced by Brooks & Dunn. No matter what– it’s pretty awesome.
