Fox News: Reports School Bans Valentine's Day Candy, Cards

Boys and girls at a Massachusetts elementary school have been banned from bringing Valentine’s Day candy or cards over cultural equality issues and federal guidelines regulating candy.
Parents of students at Salemwood Elementary School in Malden, Mass, received a letter informing them of the policy – that impacts not just Valentine’s Day – but all holidays.
“We have many different nationalities, cultures and languages spoken,” Principal Carol Keenan told Fox News. “Because of that we don’t honor specific holidays.”
Keenan said she did not want some students feeling left out.

Karl “Kickback” Rove: Tea Party Principles vs. Establishment Corruption
By Tim Selaty Sr.Well, you gotta hand it to the establishment Republican leadership, and their obnoxious sense of entitlement, with ignorantly blaming The Tea Party for their dismal record these past few cycles to regain control of the U.S. Senate. How about we look at the facts, and then make a fair proposition for the man appropriately nicknamed “Turd Blossom”, presumably because Karl Rove is so full of you-know-what.
Establishment Republican efforts these past two cycles to regain control to the United States Senate have been incompetent, as we previously mentioned here a few weeks back. Rove and his buddy Sen. John Cornyn had a string of epic failures these last several years;
Because of the NRSC ineptitude to learn from the NRCC, they continued that same old, same old flat-world mindset and rolled out another roster of so-called “electable” establishment candidates for 2012 in red or battleground states: Tommy Thompson in Wisconsin, Rick Berg in North Dakota, Denny Rehberg in Montana, George Allen in Virginia, Connie Mack in Florida, Pete Hoekstra in Michigan, Heather Wilson in New Mexico (a candidate so flawed that even Rove stated under oath Wilson lied about her involvement in a U.S. Attorney firing), and former governor Linda Lingle in Hawaii. All of these establishment favorites lost – many badly for open seats. As a result of the grassroots Tea Party movement, we now have rising stars like Rand Paul of Kentucky, Marco Rubio of Florida, Mike Lee of Utah, Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania – all of whom had to initially clear establishment-moderate-NRSC choices. They joined 2010 conservatives like Ron Johnson of Wisconsin and Rob Portman of Ohio, as there was inarguably a lot more triumphs in that cycle because of the Tea Party.
House earmark vigilante and social conservative Jeff Flake of Arizona won his open seat race in 2012. Flake’s fellow conservative Congressman, and Tea Party advocate, Tim Scott of South Carolina has been appointed to Jim DeMint’s seat as he now heads up The Heritage Foundation. Tea Party candidates Ted Cruz of Texas and Deb Fischer of Nebraska now join those ranks as underdogs who beat the establishment odds and won in 2012… does anyone else see a pattern of success here and an epic failure by the Republican establishment?

According to the Sunlight Foundation, [Rove's] Crossroads had a massive political war chest of $300 million but saw no more than 1.29% of its candidates win in 2012. Majority PAC, a liberal organization that supported Democratic candidates, saw a success rate of 87.88%. It had a mere $180 million.
Mark Levin properly called out Rove and his comrade’s meddling with “Get the hell off the stage already, will you pal?” and here for his lack of accountability, bizarre behavior, and narcissism. Rove’s credibility is certainly in question now, as Jeffrey Lord of The American Spectator brought to light, especially In light of past and recent deceptions by him;
There is concern that what Rove is seeking to do is build a Shadow Republican Party — a decidedly Establishment GOP. An Establishment GOP that is effectively built in the image of all those repeatedly losing presidential candidates, not to mention the Establishment losers supported by American Crossroads in recent elections. When in fact the Tea Party — and the conservative movement in general — is the only reason Republicans have been winning in the first place.
So it is very well established that Rove has 1) a lousy track record, 2) a megalomaniac complex that he cannot back up, and 3) can’t seem to get a consistent truth out there to defend either himself or the establishment failures.
Rove even continues to shamefully slander Christine O’Donnell for her grass roots victory against King Republican In Name Only (RINO) and career politician Mike Castle back in 2010, while still not taking any responsibility for his destructive words and ways again as noted below by FOX News’ Sean Hannity and here at the Tea Party Tribune;
Hannity responded [to Rove in 2010] by saying, “This is probably one of the few times we’re going to disagree here, because I’ve met her [O'Donnell], I’ve interviewed her a lot over the years, I’ve found her quite impressive, and more importantly, she is a solid conservative.”
So here’s the kicker for old Karl “Kickback” Rove. If he delusionally continues to self-appoint himself as kingmaker, and dare accuse the Conservative grass roots movement for establishment/moderate Republican failures, then we should be able to challenge Rove’s claim that he is a Crossroads “volunteer”. For an entity that raised $300+ Million, and in light of what we ALL know akin to Morton Blackwell’s article titled “The GOP’s Consultant Problem”, Rove get’s his money from somewhere as former New Gingrich aide Rick Tyler challenged recently to The Washington Post;
Tyler wrote. “I have no way of knowing if his assertion is true. Only Rove knows and given the responsibility he had with resources under his stewardship and that he was presented as an honest broker both on Fox News and The Wall Street Journal, he should provide some assurances that his assertion is true. We know that media buying precipitates commissions (kickbacks). Who got that money or where was it spent and why was it not disclosed?
Several experts noted that Rove could be a part-owner of one of the media or fundraising companies that were paid by Crossroads — what Tyler had called “kickbacks.” For instance, one company loosely linked to Rove’s old Texas firm received money from Crossroads, but we can find no financial connection between Rove and that firm today.
All U.S. Senate candidates have to file their full annual earnings/holdings with the Senate Select Committee on Ethics, and of course Presidential candidates have to file several years of tax returns for public disclosure. If we are to believe someone who has arguably sabotaged the GOP’s chances with his incompetence and ineffectiveness since 2004, and continues to wage war on the Tea Party/Conservative movement and all it stands for, is it too much to ask why won’t Rove show IRS filings and domestic/offshore bank accounts?
Yeah, yeah, one of Rove’s lackeys denied the kickbacks, but frankly these people lie before they are even vertical on a daily basis – that’s what they do for a living. As FOX News’ Bill O’Reilly concluded to O’Donnell, “The old boys don’t want to give up their power.”, to which she astutely added, “…they would rather control the way they lose than lose control of the party.”
In my humble opinion, even with a denial by Rove and his associates, the common thread seems to be Carl Forti of Black Rock Group, who many including Rove have called his protégé, or as Reuters reported here “Karl Rove’s Karl Rove.”
Forti ran Mitt Romney’s Restore Our Future PAC, and was also lead consultant for American Crossroads and Crossroads GPS as noted here. My educated guess is Rove may have gotten his money from Forti/Black Rock Group fees, which again as a 501(c)3 do not have to be disclosed. Forti is a known shell-game guy, and it should be fair game to question that, taking Tyler’s claim one logical step further as stated here;
Forti proposed a plan intended to evade contribution rules while also implementing a coordinated strategy. Black Rock would be used as a middleman, crafting a comprehensive game plan and then advising individual donors on how and where to spend their money.
Maybe this is all just as well, as Rove’s horrible track record continues to this day, so if FOX News is crazy enough to keep rolling Rove out and losing core viewers, we’ll gladly welcome them here and here as we continue to grow. Either way, we won’t give up the fight!
Conservatives Pushing Boehner, Cantor to Defund Obamacare in Continuing Resolution
Conservative House Republicans are circulating a letter calling on House Speaker John Boehner and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor to defund Obamacare in the upcoming continuing resolution that funds the government. Oklahoma Republican Rep. Jim Bridenstine, a freshman, and Kansas Republican Rep. Tim Huelskamp are leading the charge.
“The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (‘ObamaCare’) remains broadly unpopular across America,” the letter to Boehner and Cantor reads. “More and more Americans are now feeling its impact--from job losses and part-time downgrades, to insurance policy changes and violations of religious liberties, to state budget strains from Medicaid expansions. And Americans don’t like these impacts. Most Americans still believe that healthcare should be controlled by patients and doctors, not by the government.”In the letter, the conservatives note that while they plan to “re-start efforts to repeal ObamaCare in its entirety this year, next year and until we are successful,” that “in the meantime, there is more we can do in Congress.”
The upcoming continuing resolution, which funds the government, is one such place. House Republicans have the power, should they choose to use it, to shut down Obamacare through the appropriations process--the power of the purse laid out in the United States Constitution.
It is unclear if Boehner and Cantor will defund Obamacare this time around. Over the past couple years, they have passed continuing resolutions that actually fund Obamacare. Spokespeople for both Boehner and Cantor have not returned requests for comment from Breitbart News on this matter.
That said, Cantor and Boehner both promised to use the appropriations process to defund Obamacare in press statements in early 2011 after the Tea Party movement swept the GOP into control of the House of Representatives.
At a February 2011 press conference, CNS News asked Cantor: "On the CR [continuing resolution], when that bill comes to the floor, will there be any funding for the health care reform law in it?"
Cantor responded that there would not. “I expect to see, one way or the other, the product coming out of the House to speak to that [ObamaCare funding] and to preclude any funding to be used for that,” Cantor said.
Boehner spokesman Michael Steel added: “[M]ake no mistake, House Republicans are committed to repealing ObamaCare (which we have already voted to do) and--if the Senate fails to act on repeal--we will use every means at our disposal to stop this job-destroying law.”
In the two years that have passed since, Boehner and Cantor have not followed through on that promise.
It certainly does not appear that Boehner and Cantor will fight this time, though. When NBC News’ David Gregory asked Boehner on Sunday’s Meet The Press whether he would “commit” to not shutting the government down over the continuing resolution, Boehner responded: “absolutely.”
“We, the House next week will act to extend the continuing resolution through the end of the fiscal year, September 30th,” Boehner said. “The president this morning agreed that we should not have any talk of a government shutdown. So I'm hopeful that the House and Senate will be able to work through this.”

Do not be foolish any longer. This is a private interview with a DHS insider:
The following information was provided to me by my DHS contact on two
different occasions. Information from my first contact was previously
published in two parts (here). I was asked to withhold the final portion
of the information that was provided to me at that time until after the
inauguration. The following resumes where part II left off. At the
request of this source and for the sake of continuity, the following
combines the information withheld and the information from our most
recent contact on 4 February 2013.
DH: Do I have your permission to record this conversation?
RB: Please do.
DH: We’ve spoken at different times since the information you gave me
was published. You have since given me additional information on top of
the information you asked me to withhold until after the inauguration.
First, what was the reason for asking me to wait to after the remainder
of our discussion until after the inauguration?
RB: This bunch,
top level DHS brass, is clamping down on leaks. One way they are
finding leakers is to put out false information specific to certain
individuals. They can trace the information directly to the leaker due
to the nature and specificity of the information. It was part
self-preservation, part vetting one of my closest and most important
contacts. It was a test to assure that I am not being used for
disinformation purposes or being targeted as a leaker. It was something I
felt I had to do, and I’m glad I did. I feel more comfortable now about
my sources.
DH: So, if I understand you correctly, your sources “passed” whatever test you were performing?
RB: Yes.
DH: And you still have access to information, I mean, whistleblower type information?
RB: I know what you mean, so I guess that’s one way to put it. Okay.
DH: For continuity and to refresh your memory, I’m going to play the
remainder of our recorded interview from our contact last month.
[At
this point, we listened to the dialogue previously recorded. After the
recording concluded, this DHS source suggested that we combine new
information with the previously recorded information to avoid
unnecessary repetition. It was agreed and the recorder was turned back
on with his consent].
DH: Just to be clear, let me hit this again.
The main reason you asked me to wait to publish your previous statements
had more to do with you, your sources and well, your own self
preservation than the content of our discussion.
RB: I guess you
could say that. But the information is still valid and becomes even more
important when combined with the latest information I have for you.
DH: Okay, we can get on with it, then.
RB: First of all, two days after the inauguration, at exactly 7:00 a.m.
on January 23, something called “the Cyber-Warriors for Obama Project”
was activated. I heard about this the week after the election, but only
saw a hardcopy draft in late December. From what I was told, I believe
this is a project that is being paid for through funds from Obama’s
political corporation, the 501(c)4 Organizing for Obama, I believe it’s
called. I can’t be sure, but that’s what I was told.
At that time, I
was shown a white, three-ring binder with Obama’s circular campaign
logo imprinted on the outside of the binder with the name
“Cyber-Warriors for Obama” printed in blue across the top. Inside were
the names and e-mail addresses of 3,575 “cyber assets,” or “warriors,”
listed in alphabetical order under about a dozen or so “team leaders.”
From a separate sheet I was shown, most of these “assets” are being paid
just over minimum wage, but as I understand it, they work from home and
have no overhead. I believe there are about two dozen supervisors who
make substantially more.
Now I only had the binder for a minute, and could not take it from the room I was in, so this is strictly from memory.
It was tabbed, and one section with the word “targets” had a list of
religious web sites, web sites I recognized as Christian. Another
section was a listing of conservative Internet sites. There was another
tab with the label “problem sites” that seemed quite extensive. I looked
at that section, and it was broken down further into “birther” sites,
“pro-gun” sites, “anti-abortion” sites, just to name a few.
There
was also a section of the usual news sites, like CNN, ABC, you know.
Numerous e-mail addresses were conspicuous under each news organization,
which also included Fox… [unintelligible]. I figured you were going to
ask.
The first page of the binder had bullet points labeled
“objectives” and instructions for the cyber-assets. There was also a
very detailed non-disclosure agreement with the word “DRAFT” typed in
big, light grey letters across the body of the two-page agreement. The
agreement and the instructions were typed on white paper with a warning,
printed in red on each page, that the document was not to be copied or
disseminated.
DH: Where did you see this? I mean, was it at DHS?
RB: Yes, and that’s as much as I can say on the location.
DH: What’s the magic behind the number 3,575?
RB: I asked the person showing me [the binder] that question.
Supposedly, it has to do with their budget, or the project funding.
DH: Go on.
RB: The instructions seemed very specific. Infiltrate web forums,
collect screen names, avatars, and posters’ tag lines, and attempt to
resolve these to their actual identities. I read one paragraph that
listed circumstances when the “asset” was only to monitor but do not
disrupt without authorization. There was another section titled “Divert,
Disrupt and Destroy,” listing “how to’s” in certain cases.
There was also a section on maintaining a social media presence, and another on the most effective use of Twitter.
Lastly, there was a “reference section,” which included statistics,
specific language to use to marginalize different posters, and effective
methods to discredit people while maintaining a sense of legitimacy.
It was surreal, to say the least.
Oh, one more thing that’s important. As I said, these “kids,” or young
people I believe, are known collectively as “Cyber-Warriors for Obama.”
The subheading was “And the truth shall set you free.” Truth? Really?
They were hired on their hacking abilities, or more precisely on their
abilities to make postings through proxy servers and effectively use
alternate identities and multiple e-mail addresses. Their purpose is to
spread disinformation, not truth.
There were also motivational
statements on various pages, including one that referred to Obama as the
“Pharaoh of the Internet,” which I thought was an odd characterization.
But what’s important is that suddenly, through the use of Internet
aliases, multiple e-mail addresses, and screen names, a project that
employs 3,575 people will have the appearance and effectiveness of maybe
10,000 or more different people.
DH: Do you know if these “team members” have their own copies of the binder you saw?
RB: No. I was told that these people were hired through the campaign
offices located throughout the country, and that training meetings were
held at various locations. The binders were for instructional purposes,
not to hand out. Although I think the people have, or were given, a list
of web sites.
I don’t know any more on the actual mechanics of the project.
DH: During our previous contact, you said that we should listen to
Obama’s comments about the economy, I mean during the inaugural speech.
What’s so significant about that?
RB: Well, this is perhaps the most
important issue people need to understand. There will be, and was, talk
of a recovery and a stronger economy, but it’s all propaganda. As you
heard me say in the recording you just played, the complete inaugural
address will be a “Baghdad Bob” moment, and it was. Many economists will
use false figures and statistics to deceive the American people. People
must not downplay the importance of the economic aspect of this
address. The sudden collapse of the U.S. dollar (however it actually
plays out) and everything that goes with it (such as social chaos and
riots) will be one part of a plan that was set in motion a long time
ago.
DH: During our previous contact, you said that we should listen

DH: And you are getting this from your current
intelligence sources? Frankly, I’m not sure I completely understand the
connection between DHS and what’s going on with the economy. Seems like
it should be separate.
RB: What’s not to understand? The economic
devastation that will take place is an attack, a planned attack on the
U.S. Just look at it that way. This “regime” already knows the outcome,
which is the debasement of our national currency. Like I said, it’s been
in the works most recently since the 1990s. A collapse does not happen
without a lot of pain -people losing everything in their retirement
accounts, savings and so on. Don’t you think that will cause one hell of
a national security problem? And who is running our national or
domestic security? DHS.
Oh, and one of the reasons I wanted to
include more recent information into our discussion relates to something
you did last month, after our talk. I know you said you did not want to
source your own work, but there was one important radio program you did
that caused a very angry response inside DHS.
DH: How so?
RB: You had a financial insider on your program who went by some letter, like the first or last letter of his name.
DH: Yes, that was “V” who is a source for Steve Quayle. We did a
program at the beginning of January, I think - I’d have to look. [Edited
to add that the actual program was 11 January 2013.]
RB: Yeah, that
was it. If you ask your network, I think you’ll find a request was made
for the transcript of that program by DHS. The information given by
that source was protected, or confidential, especially regarding the
actions of big bankers here in the U.S. and the foreign markets. These
international bankers are playing a big role in killing the U.S., and
although they’re bold, they still don’t want certain things disclosed
before their time.
DH: But that information had nothing to do with national security. I mean, how would this relate to DHS?
RB: Now you’re giving me a headache [laughter]. Let me spell it out for
you, and this is the crux of everything. We have Obama (or whatever his
real name is) in the Oval Office. You’ve said it before, that America
is a “captured operation.” Well, it is, and every top level operative at
DHS and Justice knows it. They have his dossier.
Think about
Obama’s mother working in microfinance with Timothy Geithner’s father.
What are the odds? And that’s just one “coincidence.”
A lot of
people won’t get this until it’s too late, or maybe never get it. But
take a good look at Obama and the people who surround him. Look at the
2008 economic crisis under Bush. Look at the run up to where we’re at
today. The orchestrated boom of the 1990s. The GLB Act signed into law
under Clinton that changed the complexion of our domestic economy. Look
at the people who are still around, the architects of this. It’s a big
lie! It’s all been rigged, and the insiders know this! Look at the
continuity of agenda since “Bush senior.”
Now listen to what I am
telling you. This is a continuing operation that involves many of the
same people on both sides of the aisle in Washington. This is one of the
reasons why no one wants to talk about Obama’s past. He is the product
of a continuing intelligence operation, put in power to oversee the
dismantling of the U.S., with the economy being the lynchpin of our
destruction. Obama, Jarrett, and the Clintons are in constant contact
with all high level operatives inside the DHS. Perhaps not directly in
all cases but through their contacts. They are working together to see
to it that the U.S. economy is brought down, robbing the people of their
wealth and then blaming partisan politics for the crash.
For the
first time in recent history, you’re going to see people hungry and out
in the streets. Those unprepared or those thinking this is all
[expletive deleted], desperate and begging for food. Think Katrina, but
on a national scale. That’s what is being planned for Americans, and few
people are willing to see what’s happening, or willing to believe it.
Now here’s where DHS, my sources and information comes in.
Everybody
is looking at the gun “problem” in America. Fights over the Second
Amendment. State laws that go against the Constitution. Blame it on
Sandy Hook or Colorado. Tell people we need to be disarmed because it’s
for the children. It’s all [expletive deleted]. Most people know it’s
all [expletive deleted], but that’s where their rational assessment
stops. Why do you think the people in power want to -no - need to disarm
the public? It’s because they are planning an economic collapse, and an
armed and informed populace is a danger to their plan.
DH: Wait,
wouldn’t it make sense to let the guns stay in the hands of the people
and have the people shoot it out among themselves? Wouldn’t this fit in
with their desire for chaos, and make it easier for Martial Law to be
implemented?
RB: In a way, but you’re still not thinking big enough.
The way this is being planned includes that scenario, but they are very
afraid that once total chaos breaks out, they will become the targets.
So to a point you’re right, but then a crackdown must take place.
DH: But the elected ones are well protected.
RB: Yeah, but you are not thinking like them. There are several
scenarios or models they have commissioned. They exist in printed form
and have been given to Obama and Jarrett specifically. It’s war gaming
with the American people. That caused some mid-level military people
with a conscience to ask what the hell is going on, and some even
refused to take part in these exercises. By the way, Napolitano is the
go-to person for these models.
Anyway, there is a fear that their
own people won’t be loyal to them when everything begins to implode.
You’ve been seeing purges lately. Remember what Jarrett supposedly said
about being “hell to pay” after the re-election? That process has
started.
DH: Those who have been “purged” - why haven’t we seen anyone speak out about what’s going on?
RB: They’ve been threatened. Some were not worth even being threatened and became “examples.”
DH: Like who?
RB: Oh c’mon, look at the recent mysterious deaths. Pick one.
DH: Okay, but wouldn’t they be safer by speaking out, by telling
everything they know? Some ordinary people might call them cowards. Why
not just go public[interrupted/over talk]
RB: Yeah, how’d that work
out so far? And go public to who? CNN? They are in real danger, and so
are their families. Anyone close to them. Even if one or two would go
public, how do you think that would work out for them? I’ll tell you
how. They would make [Senator] McCarthy look like an American hero,
which he was, but that’s… They’ve made it so that no one will be able to
make any real difference to their agenda. They know that.
DH: So no one is going to say anything - ever?
RB: That’s not what I said. Some will talk when the time is right. Some
have “insurance policies” that will be used at the right time, when
they will make the most difference.
DH: I feel like we’re getting off point. So, what is being planned?
RB: The DHS will oversee the domestic crackdown that will happen when
the perfect storm bears down on us. And the perfect storm is the
economy, meaning the U.S. dollar collapse and hyperinflation, racial or
class riots sparked by a high-profile incident, and another mass
causality event involving guns. Watch for these three things to happen
all at once, or in close succession.
The polarization caused by these events will be sufficient to cause a second civil war.
DH: When? How soon will all of this happen?
RB: I don’t have a crystal ball, but I have seen various reports
referencing unprecedented “drills” to take place in later March and
April. I’ll mention this because I know a lot of people on the inside at
DHS have seen this. A document called “Operation Thunderdome.” It’s
maybe 50 or 60 pages, I’m not certain. It describes an economic collapse
in the U.S., followed by an attack on the government by “a made-up
patriotic group.” It combines gun owners, Constitutionalists, and even
Christians into an enemy group that pulls off an attack in Washington.
But don’t fall into the trap of trying to pick the time of these
events. Their plans are flexible, but their objectives are carved in
stone.
DH: Sounds like a Reichstag type event- sometime.
RB:
Exactly. Maybe not just one. They have plans and back-up plans and
back-ups for the back-ups. And in spite of the warnings, and history,
enough people will be outraged and side with the government. This brings
me to my final point. What do you think all of the prepositioning of
paramilitary assets, caches of ammunition, and the opening of
non-descript buildings owned or leased by the federal government are
for?
It’s for you and people like you. It’s for those who are turned
in by their neighbors, friends, co-workers, and others who are hungry,
broke and broken. What we are about to experience will be like it was
during the Civil War, only worse. People will be outgunned, surveillance
will be everywhere, and it will be much more difficult to hide and
fight back. Not impossible, but more difficult.
DH: So you’re painting a picture of a Mad Max scenario, hence the reference to Thunderdome?
RB: Believe it or not, part of the model, or at least one of them,
includes the depiction of a somewhat “normal” society, at least after
the initial “hostilities.” People will be controlled by the national
government, centralized - in order to escape the chaos. Think of it this
way. You want food and medical care? You will not be able to own a gun,
period. The current federal legislation is all window dressing - a
distraction. No one expects anything meaningful to pass. It won’t have
to. States, yes, but those states are lining up for federal money. The
elected leaders are of the same ideology as Obama, but aside from those,
we’ll see many people turning in their weapons for food, shelter,
medical care, and false guarantees of safety. That’s what the new normal
will look like.
As I said, you’ve got to think bigger - much
bigger. The lies are bigger than most people can imagine. The people at
the top are laughing at us. Think about that. They are laughing at us
because it’s right in front of our noses. And you know, the bigger the
lie…
DH: Yes, the more people will fall for it.
RB: Right. I
think we’re done here for now. I’ve given you as much information as I
know, as I have seen. Watch the economy - the indicators. Watch for a
false flag. We are being baited. Let people pooh-pooh this information,
seek information through FOI requests. Not gonna happen. We’re talking
about an operation so black and so big, and one that has to be done in
the next few years, under Obama.
This is something that is
international in scope. The plan is international, and is dedicated to
the dismantling or destruction of America. It’s happening right in front
of us, but too few can actually see it.
DH: I’m sure you, well… We’ll be accused of scaring people without citable evidence.
RB: People need to wake up. Believe me or don’t. It’s their choice.
DH: Wait, one more thing. What should we be looking for next?
RB: Look around. You’re seeing it. We’ll talk again. Please shut off the recorder.

Rand Paul launches talking filibuster against John Brennan
Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-Ky.) talking filibuster against John Brennan’s
nomination as CIA director is gaining supporters, and it’s now a
bipartisan effort.
Paul began speaking just before noon Wednesday on the Senate floor in
opposition to Brennan’s nomination, saying that he planned to speak
“for the next few hours” in a rare talking filibuster.

Paul, who strongly opposes the Brennan nomination and the Obama
administration’s use of unmanned aerial drones, became the first senator
to make use of the procedural tactic in more than two years and the
first to do so since the Senate approved a bipartisan rules reform package in January.
Paul has since been joined in his symbolic effort by Republican Sens.
Mike Lee (Utah), Ted Cruz (Tex.), Jerry Moran (Kan.), Marco Rubio
(Fla.), Saxby Chambliss (Ga.) and Pat Toomey (Pa.). He has also gotten
some bipartisan support from Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden (Ore.). Sen. Mark
Kirk (R-Ill.) brought Paul an apple and a thermos of tea — a possible
reference to the film Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, in which Jimmy Stewart brings out similar provisions.
“I will speak until I can no longer speak,” Paul said. “I will speak
as long as it takes, until the alarm is sounded from coast to coast that
our Constitution is important, that your rights to trial by jury are
precious, that no American should be killed by a drone on American soil
without first being charged with a crime, without first being found to
be guilty by a court.”
Paul began his filibuster at 11:47 a.m. Eastern time. At the start of
the 1 p.m. hour, he was the only senator on the floor. Just 30 people
watched from the Senate gallery above while a few security guards,
stenographers and Senate pages held their appointed spots on the floor.
In the rafters, a man responsible for operating the Senate television
cameras was seen reading a newspaper.
But after more than three hours, Paul got some help and the
filibuster began to gain steam. Lee joined the filibuster at 2:57 p.m.
and Cruz at 3:08 p.m. Wyden jumped in in the filibuster’s fifth hour, at
3:53 p.m.
Paul’s comments from the Senate floor come after he’s raised
objections in recent weeks. Paul first threatened to filibuster the
Brennan nomination in late February,
when he sent a letter to administration officials asking whether the
U.S. government would ever use a drone strike to kill an American on
U.S. soil.
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. responded to Paul’s inquiry
Monday, saying the administration has “no intention” of carrying out
drone strikes on suspected terrorists in the United States, but could
use them in response to “an extraordinary circumstance” such as a major
terrorist attack.
Paul called Holder’s refusal to rule out drone strikes within the United States “more than frightening.”
On Wednesday, Paul elaborated on his concerns: “When I asked the
president, can you kill an American on American soil, it should have
been an easy answer. It’s an easy question. It should have been a
resounding, an unequivocal, ‘No.’ The president’s response? He hasn’t
killed anyone yet. We’re supposed to be comforted by that.”
Wyden agreed in part with Paul’s filibuster, even as he was mostly
satisfied with Holder’s response: “I want it understood that I have
great respect for this effort to really ask these kinds of questions …
And Sen. Paul has certainly been digging into these issues in great
detail.”
At 4:45 p.m., Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) took to the
floor to see if Paul would say when he will end his filibuster so that
senators could prepare for a vote to end debate and bring the nomination
to a vote.
Paul dug in, saying he would be happy to end it, but only “if the
president or the attorney general will clarify that they will not kill
Americans on American soil.”
Reid informed senators before leaving: “Everyone should plan on coming tomorrow. We’re through for the night.”
Just after 7 p.m., Paul asked for Democrats to consent to vote on a
non-binding resolution that would express opposition to the drone
killings of American citizens on American soil. Sen. Dick Durbin
(D-Ill.) rejected it, promising a committee hearing on drone strikes
instead, and Paul continued his filibuster.
Paul noted that he has voted for Obama’s previous Cabinet nominees,
including Secretary of State John Kerry and Secretary of Defense Chuck
Hagel, and suggested that his cause was not partisan.
“I have allowed the president to pick his political appointees,” Paul
said. “But I will not sit quietly and let him shred the Constitution.
… I would be here if it were a Republican president doing this. Really
the great irony of this is that President Obama’s opinion on this is an
extension of George Bush’s opinion.”
Paul also said that he was “alarmed” at the lack of definition over
who can be targeted by drone strikes. He suggested that many college
campuses in the 1960s were full of people who might have been considered
enemies of the state.
“Are you going to drop … a Hellfire missile on Jane Fonda?” Paul asked.
Brennan has gained the support of some Republican senators, even as
others want to hold up his nomination in hopes of getting more answers
from the White House on drones and also the deaths of four Americans in
Benghazi, Libya. His nomination easily cleared the Senate Intelligence
Committee this week, suggesting he would have the 60 votes required to
end Paul’s filibuster and bring the nomination to a vote.
Any senator can opt to hold the floor to speak on any matter, but the
practice of speaking for hours on end is rare. That goes double in the
modern-day Senate, where the chamber’s rules are used more often to
block legislation or to hold show votes on trivial matters.
Paul’s talking filibuster is the first conducted by a senator since
December 2010, when Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) held the Senate floor
for more than eight hours in opposition to Obama’s proposed tax-cut
plan.
The longest filibuster in the Senate was Sen. Strom Thurmond’s
(D-S.C.) 24-hour filibuster against the 1957 Civil Rights Act. (Thurmond
later became a Republican.) Two other senators — Sens. Alphonse D’Amato
(R-N.Y.) and Wayne Morse (I-Ore.) — have also filibustered for more
than 20 hours.
Cruz, shortly after joining the filibuster, compared Paul to another
famous filibusterer, Jimmy Stewart’s character in the movie “Mr. Smith
Goes to Washington.”
“You’re standing here like a modern-day ‘Mr. Smith Goes to
Washington,’ ” Cruz said. “You must surely be making Jimmy
Stewart smile.”
The Kentucky senator was allowed to yield to the other like-minded
conservatives for “a question,” but there are no rules mandating the
form of the question. So, for example, Cruz and Lee delivered long
speeches themselves in opposition to the drone program, sometimes
actually stopping to ask Paul a question, other times going on for
extended speechifying.
The oddity of the day was the chamber’s far-right corner — literally —
seized control of the body. The most junior Republicans occupy seats in
the far-right corner and most junior Democrats in the far-left corner,
with the more tenured senators getting seats closer toward the middle.
So, as newcomers Paul, Lee, Rubio and Cruz spoke out against the CIA
nominee, they did so from contiguous desks in the deep right corner of
the room, as the rest of the chamber was vacant.
As the person leading the filibuster, Paul was forbidden from ever leaving the floor, lest he lose control of the debate.

But I have a secret….
well, a confession to make…….
You see, in reality, I have had a little help….. well, not just a little help, but a LOT of help…..
But it wasn’t always that way. Back when I was getting started I
knew I need help, but I couldn’t really afford someone full time.
So I hired one person, Jeanette, for 4 hours a week (at a cost of $32
per week). And when I did that, I was amazed to see how that one

Did you get that? I was paying
out around $128 per month in help, and raking in around $6,000 per month
in added income due to the increase in closings.
I didn’t have to be a rocket scientist to realize that I was on to something.
Needless to say, I quickly moved my first helper to working 40 hours a
week, and over a short period of time, added even another helper to my
team.
But I found the key was to have them doing a specific set of activities while I was doing another specific set of activities.
Fast forward a few years, and I now have well over a dozen “helpers”
in the various businesses that I run and in the joint ventures I have
with other top notch entrepreneurs to generate hundreds of thousands of dollars PER MONTH in revenue.
And we’re still growing even though I’ve seen my own businesses change completely over the past few years.
Massive economic and social shifts
have forever changed the way
we work and generate income.
First, there’s the economy and housing and lending crisis. I don’t
need to say much about how that has SHAKEN the entire industry to its
roots.
But…… this same “crisis” has also created HUGE opportunities for
building your mortgage business, building wealth, and making money.
For example, the loan industry has been “weeded” out.There was a day
when we used to say that a monkey could write a loan, but now only the
best, most dedicated loan officers are left. (That’s you!!) This
purging has left a virtual goldmine of highly qualified people (people
who were put out of jobs when companies folded) that you can recruit to
help you grow your business. (You just have to know how and where to
find them and how to get them dirt cheap.)
Second, with all the new free tools available and knowing how to use
them correctly, it’s never been easier to get new referrals and new
closed loans throughout your entire state than ever before. You just
need to purge the “it’s got to be from my town mentality” before you’ll
see the true success of top producers.
Third, the way we market for buyers and refinances, as well as how we
find and build relationships with key referral partners has been turned
upside-down with the explosion of social media sites like Facebook,
Pinterest, Linkedin & Google+ and with the rise of the internet and
online media, especially video. (And I won’t even mention the coming
wave of Mobile Marketing….)
The bottom line is if you haven’t
adopted the “new way” of
realestate and mortgage marketing,
you’re probably not going to be in
business in a few years.
As someone who was comfortable and very successful at doing things
the “old way”, part of me wishes I could turn back the clock and just
ignore these huge social trends.
But there’s no going back.

The following information was provided to me by my DHS contact on two different occasions. Information from my first contact was previously published in two parts (here). I was asked to withhold the final portion of the information that was provided to me at that time until after the inauguration. The following resumes where part II left off. At the request of this source and for the sake of continuity, the following combines the information withheld and the information from our most recent contact on 4 February 2013.
DH: Do I have your permission to record this conversation?
RB: Please do.
DH: We’ve spoken at different times since the information you gave me was published. You have since given me additional information on top of the information you asked me to withhold until after the inauguration. First, what was the reason for asking me to wait to after the remainder of our discussion until after the inauguration?
RB: This bunch, top level DHS brass, is clamping down on leaks. One way they are finding leakers is to put out false information specific to certain individuals. They can trace the information directly to the leaker due to the nature and specificity of the information. It was part self-preservation, part vetting one of my closest and most important contacts. It was a test to assure that I am not being used for disinformation purposes or being targeted as a leaker. It was something I felt I had to do, and I’m glad I did. I feel more comfortable now about my sources.
DH: So, if I understand you correctly, your sources “passed” whatever test you were performing?
RB: Yes.
DH: And you still have access to information, I mean, whistleblower type information?
RB: I know what you mean, so I guess that’s one way to put it. Okay.
DH: For continuity and to refresh your memory, I’m going to play the remainder of our recorded interview from our contact last month.
[At this point, we listened to the dialogue previously recorded. After the recording concluded, this DHS source suggested that we combine new information with the previously recorded information to avoid unnecessary repetition. It was agreed and the recorder was turned back on with his consent].
DH: Just to be clear, let me hit this again. The main reason you asked me to wait to publish your previous statements had more to do with you, your sources and well, your own self preservation than the content of our discussion.
RB: I guess you could say that. But the information is still valid and becomes even more important when combined with the latest information I have for you.
DH: Okay, we can get on with it, then.
RB: First of all, two days after the inauguration, at exactly 7:00 a.m. on January 23, something called “the Cyber-Warriors for Obama Project” was activated. I heard about this the week after the election, but only saw a hardcopy draft in late December. From what I was told, I believe this is a project that is being paid for through funds from Obama’s political corporation, the 501(c)4 Organizing for Obama, I believe it’s called. I can’t be sure, but that’s what I was told.
At that time, I was shown a white, three-ring binder with Obama’s circular campaign logo imprinted on the outside of the binder with the name “Cyber-Warriors for Obama” printed in blue across the top. Inside were the names and e-mail addresses of 3,575 “cyber assets,” or “warriors,” listed in alphabetical order under about a dozen or so “team leaders.” From a separate sheet I was shown, most of these “assets” are being paid just over minimum wage, but as I understand it, they work from home and have no overhead. I believe there are about two dozen supervisors who make substantially more.
Now I only had the binder for a minute, and could not take it from the room I was in, so this is strictly from memory.
It was tabbed, and one section with the word “targets” had a list of religious web sites, web sites I recognized as Christian. Another section was a listing of conservative Internet sites. There was another tab with the label “problem sites” that seemed quite extensive. I looked at that section, and it was broken down further into “birther” sites, “pro-gun” sites, “anti-abortion” sites, just to name a few.
There was also a section of the usual news sites, like CNN, ABC, you know. Numerous e-mail addresses were conspicuous under each news organization, which also included Fox… [unintelligible]. I figured you were going to ask.
The first page of the binder had bullet points labeled “objectives” and instructions for the cyber-assets. There was also a very detailed non-disclosure agreement with the word “DRAFT” typed in big, light grey letters across the body of the two-page agreement. The agreement and the instructions were typed on white paper with a warning, printed in red on each page, that the document was not to be copied or disseminated.
DH: Where did you see this? I mean, was it at DHS?
RB: Yes, and that’s as much as I can say on the location.
DH: What’s the magic behind the number 3,575?
RB: I asked the person showing me [the binder] that question. Supposedly, it has to do with their budget, or the project funding.
DH: Go on.
RB: The instructions seemed very specific. Infiltrate web forums, collect screen names, avatars, and posters’ tag lines, and attempt to resolve these to their actual identities. I read one paragraph that listed circumstances when the “asset” was only to monitor but do not disrupt without authorization. There was another section titled “Divert, Disrupt and Destroy,” listing “how to’s” in certain cases.
There was also a section on maintaining a social media presence, and another on the most effective use of Twitter.
Lastly, there was a “reference section,” which included statistics, specific language to use to marginalize different posters, and effective methods to discredit people while maintaining a sense of legitimacy.
It was surreal, to say the least.
Oh, one more thing that’s important. As I said, these “kids,” or young people I believe, are known collectively as “Cyber-Warriors for Obama.” The subheading was “And the truth shall set you free.” Truth? Really? They were hired on their hacking abilities, or more precisely on their abilities to make postings through proxy servers and effectively use alternate identities and multiple e-mail addresses. Their purpose is to spread disinformation, not truth.
There were also motivational statements on various pages, including one that referred to Obama as the “Pharaoh of the Internet,” which I thought was an odd characterization.
But what’s important is that suddenly, through the use of Internet aliases, multiple e-mail addresses, and screen names, a project that employs 3,575 people will have the appearance and effectiveness of maybe 10,000 or more different people.
DH: Do you know if these “team members” have their own copies of the binder you saw?
RB: No. I was told that these people were hired through the campaign offices located throughout the country, and that training meetings were held at various locations. The binders were for instructional purposes, not to hand out. Although I think the people have, or were given, a list of web sites.
I don’t know any more on the actual mechanics of the project.
DH: During our previous contact, you said that we should listen to Obama’s comments about the economy, I mean during the inaugural speech. What’s so significant about that?
RB: Well, this is perhaps the most important issue people need to understand. There will be, and was, talk of a recovery and a stronger economy, but it’s all propaganda. As you heard me say in the recording you just played, the complete inaugural address will be a “Baghdad Bob” moment, and it was. Many economists will use false figures and statistics to deceive the American people. People must not downplay the importance of the economic aspect of this address. The sudden collapse of the U.S. dollar (however it actually plays out) and everything that goes with it (such as social chaos and riots) will be one part of a plan that was set in motion a long time ago.
DH: During our previous contact, you said that we should listen to Obama’s comments about the economy, I mean during the inaugural speech. What’s so significant about that?
RB: Well, this is perhaps the most important issue people need to understand. There will be, and was, talk of a recovery and a stronger economy, but it’s all propaganda. As you heard me say in the recording you just played, the complete inaugural address will be a “Baghdad Bob” moment, and it was. Many economists will use false figures and statistics to deceive the American people. People must not downplay the importance of the economic aspect of this address. The sudden collapse of the U.S. dollar (however it actually plays out) and everything that goes with it (such as social chaos and riots) will be one part of a plan that was set in motion a long time ago.
DH: And you are getting this from your current intelligence sources? Frankly, I’m not sure I completely understand the connection between DHS and what’s going on with the economy. Seems like it should be separate.
RB: What’s not to understand? The economic devastation that will take place is an attack, a planned attack on the U.S. Just look at it that way. This “regime” already knows the outcome, which is the debasement of our national currency. Like I said, it’s been in the works most recently since the 1990s. A collapse does not happen without a lot of pain -people losing everything in their retirement accounts, savings and so on. Don’t you think that will cause one hell of a national security problem? And who is running our national or domestic security? DHS.
Oh, and one of the reasons I wanted to include more recent information into our discussion relates to something you did last month, after our talk. I know you said you did not want to source your own work, but there was one important radio program you did that caused a very angry response inside DHS.
DH: How so?
RB: You had a financial insider on your program who went by some letter, like the first or last letter of his name.
DH: Yes, that was “V” who is a source for Steve Quayle. We did a program at the beginning of January, I think - I’d have to look. [Edited to add that the actual program was 11 January 2013.]
RB: Yeah, that was it. If you ask your network, I think you’ll find a request was made for the transcript of that program by DHS. The information given by that source was protected, or confidential, especially regarding the actions of big bankers here in the U.S. and the foreign markets. These international bankers are playing a big role in killing the U.S., and although they’re bold, they still don’t want certain things disclosed before their time.
DH: But that information had nothing to do with national security. I mean, how would this relate to DHS?
RB: Now you’re giving me a headache [laughter]. Let me spell it out for you, and this is the crux of everything. We have Obama (or whatever his real name is) in the Oval Office. You’ve said it before, that America is a “captured operation.” Well, it is, and every top level operative at DHS and Justice knows it. They have his dossier.
Think about Obama’s mother working in microfinance with Timothy Geithner’s father. What are the odds? And that’s just one “coincidence.”
A lot of people won’t get this until it’s too late, or maybe never get it. But take a good look at Obama and the people who surround him. Look at the 2008 economic crisis under Bush. Look at the run up to where we’re at today. The orchestrated boom of the 1990s. The GLB Act signed into law under Clinton that changed the complexion of our domestic economy. Look at the people who are still around, the architects of this. It’s a big lie! It’s all been rigged, and the insiders know this! Look at the continuity of agenda since “Bush senior.”
Now listen to what I am telling you. This is a continuing operation that involves many of the same people on both sides of the aisle in Washington. This is one of the reasons why no one wants to talk about Obama’s past. He is the product of a continuing intelligence operation, put in power to oversee the dismantling of the U.S., with the economy being the lynchpin of our destruction. Obama, Jarrett, and the Clintons are in constant contact with all high level operatives inside the DHS. Perhaps not directly in all cases but through their contacts. They are working together to see to it that the U.S. economy is brought down, robbing the people of their wealth and then blaming partisan politics for the crash.
For the first time in recent history, you’re going to see people hungry and out in the streets. Those unprepared or those thinking this is all [expletive deleted], desperate and begging for food. Think Katrina, but on a national scale. That’s what is being planned for Americans, and few people are willing to see what’s happening, or willing to believe it. Now here’s where DHS, my sources and information comes in.
Everybody is looking at the gun “problem” in America. Fights over the Second Amendment. State laws that go against the Constitution. Blame it on Sandy Hook or Colorado. Tell people we need to be disarmed because it’s for the children. It’s all [expletive deleted]. Most people know it’s all [expletive deleted], but that’s where their rational assessment stops. Why do you think the people in power want to -no - need to disarm the public? It’s because they are planning an economic collapse, and an armed and informed populace is a danger to their plan.
DH: Wait, wouldn’t it make sense to let the guns stay in the hands of the people and have the people shoot it out among themselves? Wouldn’t this fit in with their desire for chaos, and make it easier for Martial Law to be implemented?
RB: In a way, but you’re still not thinking big enough. The way this is being planned includes that scenario, but they are very afraid that once total chaos breaks out, they will become the targets. So to a point you’re right, but then a crackdown must take place.
DH: But the elected ones are well protected.
RB: Yeah, but you are not thinking like them. There are several scenarios or models they have commissioned. They exist in printed form and have been given to Obama and Jarrett specifically. It’s war gaming with the American people. That caused some mid-level military people with a conscience to ask what the hell is going on, and some even refused to take part in these exercises. By the way, Napolitano is the go-to person for these models.
Anyway, there is a fear that their own people won’t be loyal to them when everything begins to implode. You’ve been seeing purges lately. Remember what Jarrett supposedly said about being “hell to pay” after the re-election? That process has started.
DH: Those who have been “purged” - why haven’t we seen anyone speak out about what’s going on?
RB: They’ve been threatened. Some were not worth even being threatened and became “examples.”
DH: Like who?
RB: Oh c’mon, look at the recent mysterious deaths. Pick one.
DH: Okay, but wouldn’t they be safer by speaking out, by telling everything they know? Some ordinary people might call them cowards. Why not just go public[interrupted/over talk]
RB: Yeah, how’d that work out so far? And go public to who? CNN? They are in real danger, and so are their families. Anyone close to them. Even if one or two would go public, how do you think that would work out for them? I’ll tell you how. They would make [Senator] McCarthy look like an American hero, which he was, but that’s… They’ve made it so that no one will be able to make any real difference to their agenda. They know that.
DH: So no one is going to say anything - ever?
RB: That’s not what I said. Some will talk when the time is right. Some have “insurance policies” that will be used at the right time, when they will make the most difference.
DH: I feel like we’re getting off point. So, what is being planned?
RB: The DHS will oversee the domestic crackdown that will happen when the perfect storm bears down on us. And the perfect storm is the economy, meaning the U.S. dollar collapse and hyperinflation, racial or class riots sparked by a high-profile incident, and another mass causality event involving guns. Watch for these three things to happen all at once, or in close succession.
The polarization caused by these events will be sufficient to cause a second civil war.
DH: When? How soon will all of this happen?
RB: I don’t have a crystal ball, but I have seen various reports referencing unprecedented “drills” to take place in later March and April. I’ll mention this because I know a lot of people on the inside at DHS have seen this. A document called “Operation Thunderdome.” It’s maybe 50 or 60 pages, I’m not certain. It describes an economic collapse in the U.S., followed by an attack on the government by “a made-up patriotic group.” It combines gun owners, Constitutionalists, and even Christians into an enemy group that pulls off an attack in Washington.
But don’t fall into the trap of trying to pick the time of these events. Their plans are flexible, but their objectives are carved in stone.
DH: Sounds like a Reichstag type event- sometime.
RB: Exactly. Maybe not just one. They have plans and back-up plans and back-ups for the back-ups. And in spite of the warnings, and history, enough people will be outraged and side with the government. This brings me to my final point. What do you think all of the prepositioning of paramilitary assets, caches of ammunition, and the opening of non-descript buildings owned or leased by the federal government are for?
It’s for you and people like you. It’s for those who are turned in by their neighbors, friends, co-workers, and others who are hungry, broke and broken. What we are about to experience will be like it was during the Civil War, only worse. People will be outgunned, surveillance will be everywhere, and it will be much more difficult to hide and fight back. Not impossible, but more difficult.
DH: So you’re painting a picture of a Mad Max scenario, hence the reference to Thunderdome?
RB: Believe it or not, part of the model, or at least one of them, includes the depiction of a somewhat “normal” society, at least after the initial “hostilities.” People will be controlled by the national government, centralized - in order to escape the chaos. Think of it this way. You want food and medical care? You will not be able to own a gun, period. The current federal legislation is all window dressing - a distraction. No one expects anything meaningful to pass. It won’t have to. States, yes, but those states are lining up for federal money. The elected leaders are of the same ideology as Obama, but aside from those, we’ll see many people turning in their weapons for food, shelter, medical care, and false guarantees of safety. That’s what the new normal will look like.
As I said, you’ve got to think bigger - much bigger. The lies are bigger than most people can imagine. The people at the top are laughing at us. Think about that. They are laughing at us because it’s right in front of our noses. And you know, the bigger the lie…
DH: Yes, the more people will fall for it.
RB: Right. I think we’re done here for now. I’ve given you as much information as I know, as I have seen. Watch the economy - the indicators. Watch for a false flag. We are being baited. Let people pooh-pooh this information, seek information through FOI requests. Not gonna happen. We’re talking about an operation so black and so big, and one that has to be done in the next few years, under Obama.
This is something that is international in scope. The plan is international, and is dedicated to the dismantling or destruction of America. It’s happening right in front of us, but too few can actually see it.
DH: I’m sure you, well… We’ll be accused of scaring people without citable evidence.
RB: People need to wake up. Believe me or don’t. It’s their choice.
DH: Wait, one more thing. What should we be looking for next?
RB: Look around. You’re seeing it. We’ll talk again. Please shut off the recorder.
Rand Paul launches talking filibuster against John Brennan
Paul began speaking just before noon Wednesday on the Senate floor in opposition to Brennan’s nomination, saying that he planned to speak “for the next few hours” in a rare talking filibuster.

Paul, who strongly opposes the Brennan nomination and the Obama administration’s use of unmanned aerial drones, became the first senator to make use of the procedural tactic in more than two years and the first to do so since the Senate approved a bipartisan rules reform package in January.
Paul has since been joined in his symbolic effort by Republican Sens. Mike Lee (Utah), Ted Cruz (Tex.), Jerry Moran (Kan.), Marco Rubio (Fla.), Saxby Chambliss (Ga.) and Pat Toomey (Pa.). He has also gotten some bipartisan support from Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden (Ore.). Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) brought Paul an apple and a thermos of tea — a possible reference to the film Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, in which Jimmy Stewart brings out similar provisions.
“I will speak until I can no longer speak,” Paul said. “I will speak as long as it takes, until the alarm is sounded from coast to coast that our Constitution is important, that your rights to trial by jury are precious, that no American should be killed by a drone on American soil without first being charged with a crime, without first being found to be guilty by a court.”
Paul began his filibuster at 11:47 a.m. Eastern time. At the start of the 1 p.m. hour, he was the only senator on the floor. Just 30 people watched from the Senate gallery above while a few security guards, stenographers and Senate pages held their appointed spots on the floor. In the rafters, a man responsible for operating the Senate television cameras was seen reading a newspaper.
But after more than three hours, Paul got some help and the filibuster began to gain steam. Lee joined the filibuster at 2:57 p.m. and Cruz at 3:08 p.m. Wyden jumped in in the filibuster’s fifth hour, at 3:53 p.m.
Paul’s comments from the Senate floor come after he’s raised objections in recent weeks. Paul first threatened to filibuster the Brennan nomination in late February, when he sent a letter to administration officials asking whether the U.S. government would ever use a drone strike to kill an American on U.S. soil.
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. responded to Paul’s inquiry Monday, saying the administration has “no intention” of carrying out drone strikes on suspected terrorists in the United States, but could use them in response to “an extraordinary circumstance” such as a major terrorist attack.
Paul called Holder’s refusal to rule out drone strikes within the United States “more than frightening.”
On Wednesday, Paul elaborated on his concerns: “When I asked the president, can you kill an American on American soil, it should have been an easy answer. It’s an easy question. It should have been a resounding, an unequivocal, ‘No.’ The president’s response? He hasn’t killed anyone yet. We’re supposed to be comforted by that.”
Wyden agreed in part with Paul’s filibuster, even as he was mostly satisfied with Holder’s response: “I want it understood that I have great respect for this effort to really ask these kinds of questions … And Sen. Paul has certainly been digging into these issues in great detail.”
At 4:45 p.m., Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) took to the floor to see if Paul would say when he will end his filibuster so that senators could prepare for a vote to end debate and bring the nomination to a vote.
Paul dug in, saying he would be happy to end it, but only “if the president or the attorney general will clarify that they will not kill Americans on American soil.”
Reid informed senators before leaving: “Everyone should plan on coming tomorrow. We’re through for the night.”
Paul noted that he has voted for Obama’s previous Cabinet nominees, including Secretary of State John Kerry and Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, and suggested that his cause was not partisan.
“I have allowed the president to pick his political appointees,” Paul said. “But I will not sit quietly and let him shred the Constitution. … I would be here if it were a Republican president doing this. Really the great irony of this is that President Obama’s opinion on this is an extension of George Bush’s opinion.”
Paul also said that he was “alarmed” at the lack of definition over who can be targeted by drone strikes. He suggested that many college campuses in the 1960s were full of people who might have been considered enemies of the state.
“Are you going to drop … a Hellfire missile on Jane Fonda?” Paul asked.
Brennan has gained the support of some Republican senators, even as others want to hold up his nomination in hopes of getting more answers from the White House on drones and also the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya. His nomination easily cleared the Senate Intelligence Committee this week, suggesting he would have the 60 votes required to end Paul’s filibuster and bring the nomination to a vote.
Any senator can opt to hold the floor to speak on any matter, but the practice of speaking for hours on end is rare. That goes double in the modern-day Senate, where the chamber’s rules are used more often to block legislation or to hold show votes on trivial matters.
Paul’s talking filibuster is the first conducted by a senator since December 2010, when Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) held the Senate floor for more than eight hours in opposition to Obama’s proposed tax-cut plan.
The longest filibuster in the Senate was Sen. Strom Thurmond’s (D-S.C.) 24-hour filibuster against the 1957 Civil Rights Act. (Thurmond later became a Republican.) Two other senators — Sens. Alphonse D’Amato (R-N.Y.) and Wayne Morse (I-Ore.) — have also filibustered for more than 20 hours.
Cruz, shortly after joining the filibuster, compared Paul to another famous filibusterer, Jimmy Stewart’s character in the movie “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.”
“You’re standing here like a modern-day ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington,’ ” Cruz said. “You must surely be making Jimmy Stewart smile.”
The Kentucky senator was allowed to yield to the other like-minded conservatives for “a question,” but there are no rules mandating the form of the question. So, for example, Cruz and Lee delivered long speeches themselves in opposition to the drone program, sometimes actually stopping to ask Paul a question, other times going on for extended speechifying.
The oddity of the day was the chamber’s far-right corner — literally — seized control of the body. The most junior Republicans occupy seats in the far-right corner and most junior Democrats in the far-left corner, with the more tenured senators getting seats closer toward the middle.
So, as newcomers Paul, Lee, Rubio and Cruz spoke out against the CIA nominee, they did so from contiguous desks in the deep right corner of the room, as the rest of the chamber was vacant.
As the person leading the filibuster, Paul was forbidden from ever leaving the floor, lest he lose control of the debate.

Did you get that? I was paying
out around $128 per month in help, and raking in around $6,000 per month
in added income due to the increase in closings.
I didn’t have to be a rocket scientist to realize that I was on to something.Needless to say, I quickly moved my first helper to working 40 hours a week, and over a short period of time, added even another helper to my team.
But I found the key was to have them doing a specific set of activities while I was doing another specific set of activities.
Fast forward a few years, and I now have well over a dozen “helpers” in the various businesses that I run and in the joint ventures I have with other top notch entrepreneurs to generate hundreds of thousands of dollars PER MONTH in revenue.
And we’re still growing even though I’ve seen my own businesses change completely over the past few years.
Massive economic and social shifts
have forever changed the way
we work and generate income.
First, there’s the economy and housing and lending crisis. I don’t need to say much about how that has SHAKEN the entire industry to its roots.
But…… this same “crisis” has also created HUGE opportunities for building your mortgage business, building wealth, and making money.
For example, the loan industry has been “weeded” out.There was a day when we used to say that a monkey could write a loan, but now only the best, most dedicated loan officers are left. (That’s you!!) This purging has left a virtual goldmine of highly qualified people (people who were put out of jobs when companies folded) that you can recruit to help you grow your business. (You just have to know how and where to find them and how to get them dirt cheap.)
Second, with all the new free tools available and knowing how to use them correctly, it’s never been easier to get new referrals and new closed loans throughout your entire state than ever before. You just need to purge the “it’s got to be from my town mentality” before you’ll see the true success of top producers.
Third, the way we market for buyers and refinances, as well as how we find and build relationships with key referral partners has been turned upside-down with the explosion of social media sites like Facebook, Pinterest, Linkedin & Google+ and with the rise of the internet and online media, especially video. (And I won’t even mention the coming wave of Mobile Marketing….)
The bottom line is if you haven’t
adopted the “new way” of
realestate and mortgage marketing,
you’re probably not going to be in
business in a few years.
As someone who was comfortable and very successful at doing things the “old way”, part of me wishes I could turn back the clock and just ignore these huge social trends.
But there’s no going back.
