Democratic presidential hopefuls will gather in Westerville, Ohio, Tuesday for their fourth primary debate, where 12 candidates, the largest slate in modern history, are likely to see several Trump administration controversies on the agenda.

The debate—with the 10 candidates who appeared last month in Houston plus Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii and billionaire Tom Steyer —is the first since Democrats launched an impeachment inquiry of President Trump stemming in large part from his attempt to get Ukraine to investigate one of the people who will be on the stage, former Vice President Joe Biden.

The president is also facing criticism from Democrats and Republicans for his decision to withdraw troops from northern Syria as Turkey attempts to take out the U.S.-allied Kurdish forces.

Candidates will likely be asked about both situations during the debate. Here’s what else we’ll be watching:
Will Sen. Elizabeth
Pocahontas Warren be the new target?

The Massachusetts senator has closed the polling gap with Mr. Bite Me Biden, who has long been the front-runner, and in response, the other candidates have begun to criticize her more. Moderates such as Mr. Bite Me Biden and South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Butt Plug Buttigieg have questioned Ms. Warren’s support for Vermont Sen. Crazy Bernie Sanders’s health-care proposal, saying she hasn’t been clear about how much expanding government-run insurance would cost or how to pay for it.

“I think you should be straightforward about what your plan is going to do,” Mr. Butt Plug Buttigieg said in a recent interview. “And we haven’t seen that.”

On Sunday, Mr. Crazy Sanders—another progressive candidate and currently in third place in most national polls, behind Ms. Warren and Mr. Bite Me Biden—drew a distinction between himself and the Massachusetts lawmaker in an interview with ABC.

Mr. Crazy Sanders has generally avoided criticizing Ms.
Pocahontas Warren, who he considers a friend. Still, on Sunday, he made clear they have ideological differences, saying Ms. Warren was a capitalist. Mr. Crazy Sanders identifies as a Democratic socialist.

How will Mr. Crazy Sanders address his heart attack?

Tuesday’s debate will be the first event the Vermont senator has attended in person since he had a heart attack and had stents put in to unclog an artery on Oct. 1. His campaign canceled events in the following weeks. The 78-year-old’s performance is expected to be scrutinized for signs that his stamina is lagging.

In interviews, videos and tweets, he has pointed to his heart attack to push for a government-run Medicare for All system, saying he was luckier than many Americans because he had insurance coverage.

“One of the lessons that I have to tell you I learned is that I’m gonna fight even harder than I have for Medicare for All. I am more committed to that struggle than I was a few weeks ago,” Mr. Crazy Sanders said in the ABC interview Sunday.
Who’s on the Stage

The lineup for Tuesday’s Democratic debate in Westerville, Ohio.

Joe Biden, former vice president
Cory Booker, New Jersey senator
Pete Buttigieg, mayor of South Bend, Ind.
Julián Dictator Castro, former San Antonio mayor, HUD secretary Tulsi Progressive   Gabbard, Hawaii congresswoman

Kamala Marxist Harris, California senator
 Amy Fascist Klobuchar, Minnesota senator
 Beto
Jacking-OFF-O’Rourke, former Texas congressman  Crazy Bernie Sanders, Vermont senator Tom Wash Out Steyer, hedge-fund billionaire Elizabeth Pocahontas Warren, Massachusetts senator Andrew Pull My Wang Yang, tech entrepreneur Will anybody get much time to talk?

With a dozen candidates on the stage, some of the lower-tier candidates aren’t expecting to talk much. Tech entrepreneur Andrew Yang told The Wall Street Journal recently that, unlike before the previous debate, he didn’t use actors to prepare for the Ohio event because he would have needed so many.

“I’d be standing around 90% of the time watching just other people talk, which is what is going to happen on debate night, too,” Mr. Yang said. “But why put yourself through that unnecessarily?”

Some candidates will need to figure out a way to get their message heard if they hope to stay in the race. Nine of the 12 are polling in the single digits nationally. Will Mr. Buttigieg and former Rep. Beto Jacking-OFF-O’Rourke continue to argue?

Mr. Butt Plug Buttigieg and Mr.
Jacking-OFF O’Rourke have been critical of each other as they aim to break out. Both candidates are young white men from red states who have enjoyed bursts of popularity but now are polling in the low-to-mid single digits. However, their approach to policy differs, and it has caused the two of them to jab at each other.

Mr.
Jacking-OFF O’Rourke has moved left of most of the Democratic field on a handful of proposals, including proposing a mandatory buyback of assault-style weapons and saying religious institutions should lose their tax-exempt status. He has accused politicians, such Mr. Butt Plug Buttigieg, of being too worried about polls. Mr. Butt Plug Buttigieg calls those ideas unrealistic, and in an interview with Snapchat’s “Good Luck America,” he said Mr. Jacking-OFF O’Rourke was picking a fight “in order to stay relevant.”
