Trump Criticized For Using US Military For Bizarre Purpose Of Defending Nation's Borders WASHINGTON, D.C.—President Trump is under heavy criticism after announcing the deployment of thousands of troops to the United States-Mexico border, with critics slamming him for using the military for the bizarre purpose of defending the country. The Trump administration's decision to deploy the military for the nearly unheard-of purpose of defending US soil was widely panned by pundits. No one is sure where Trump got this strange idea that the military is supposed to be used to secure the nation's borders. "He must have read about it in an old document or something," said Sarah Sanders at this morning's White House briefing, shrugging her shoulders. "Frankly I never know what's going through his head." The nation's servicemembers were also nonplussed by the move. "I signed up to occupy Afghanistan, not defend the country," said one soldier. "When I said I'd defend Americans' freedoms, I meant I'd defend them abroad, not defend them at home." One MSNBC commentator called the move "unheard of and unprecedented," further elaborating that a president who redirects US military resources from occupying other countries to defending the country is "one step away from using the tactics of Adolf Hitler."
At publishing time, President Obama had come out hard against the deployment, saying that he favors drone striking civilians on the other side of the globe as the best way to secure our nation.

LAPD will not help deport immigrants under Trump, chief says
Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck said Monday that he has no plans to change the LAPD’s stance on immigration enforcement, despite President-elect Donald Trump’s pledge to toughen federal immigration laws and deport millions of people upon taking office.
For decades, the LAPD has distanced itself from federal immigration policies. The LAPD prohibits officers from initiating contact with someone solely to determine whether he or she is in the country legally, mandated by a special order signed by then-chief Daryl Gates in 1979. During Beck’s tenure as chief, the department stopped turning over people arrested for low-level crimes to federal agents for deportation and moved away from honoring federal requests to detain inmates who might be deportable past their jail terms.
On Monday, Beck said he planned to maintain the long-standing separation.
“I don’t intend on doing anything different,” he said. “We are not going to engage in law enforcement activities solely based on somebody’s immigration status. We are not going to work in conjunction with Homeland Security on deportation efforts. That is not our job, nor will I make it our job.”
Fear among immigrants and their families has rippled across the country in the days following Trump’s election to the presidency. Trump made illegal immigration a central issue of his campaign, vowing to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, deport people who are in the country illegally and unwind immigration relief created under President Obama.
In Los Angeles, officials have tried to alleviate some of those concerns by signaling their support for the city’s immigrant residents. At a meeting Friday at the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles, Mayor Eric Garcetti said the city would question Trump’s decisions on immigration.
More than 1 million of the estimated 11 million immigrants in the country without legal status live in Los Angeles County, according to the Migration Policy Institute.
“If the first day, as president, we see something that is hostile to our people, hostile to our city, bad for our economy, bad for our security, we will speak up, speak out, act up and act out,” Garcetti said.
The mayor also said that the LAPD would continue to enforce Special Order 40, the Gates-signed directive that bars officers from contacting someone solely to determine their immigration status.
“Our law enforcement officers and LAPD don’t go around asking people for their papers, nor should they,” he said. “That’s not the role of local law enforcement.”
Capt. Jeff Scroggin, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, said it is too soon to say how sheriff’s officials would react to any changes required by the Trump administration. Those changes could be tied to federal funding, he noted.
In the meantime, he said, sheriff’s deputies who patrol the county will continue their longstanding practice of treating all residents the same, regardless of background.
“We just want people to come forward so we have a better community. It doesn’t matter whether they’re an immigrant or going through the process of citizenship,” Scroggin said. “Whatever it is, we want to hear from them. We don’t want them to not cooperate. It’s important to keep the community safe. We never ask about immigration status.”
In the county jails, the Sheriff’s Department recently scaled back its cooperation with federal immigration agents. Previously, under a program called 287(g), federal agents were stationed in the jails, and jail deputies helped them to identify potentially deportable inmates.
Since September 2015, deputies have still been referring some inmates to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, but only those convicted of serious crimes, such as burglary, assault, sexual abuse or felony drunk driving.
Beck said his command staff has also been meeting with community leaders to hear their concerns about immigration enforcement.
“This is the same LAPD you had Monday, a week ago. We have not changed because of the election on Tuesday. We have the same principles. We have the same values,” he said. “This is not going to change the way that the Los Angeles Police Department enforces the law.”

Sweden, seen by many American progressives as the model of multiculturalism and tolerance, has erupted into an orgy of violence as gangs of rioting immigrants took to the streets for a fifth consecutive night Tuesday in Stockholm.
The latest reports indicate the riots are now spreading to the country’s two other major cities – Gothenburg and Malmo.
Sweden, along with Germany, make up Europe’s two most generous welfare states. They are also the most welcoming of Islamic immigrants, more than a million of which have flooded into the continent this year from Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and North Africa.
The unrest and destabilization in Sweden, which has received zero coverage in the U.S. media even as President Obama plans to ramp up his own refugee welcoming program, is exactly the type of upheaval that the global elite have planned for all of Western Europe and America, as predicted by analyst Paul McGuire in a Oct. 6 article by WND.
Hundreds of cars were torched, shops had their windows smashed, a police station was set ablaze and fire departments kept from a major blaze by rock-throwing mobs.
The globalists in charge of Europe and the United States are using Islam and Muslim refugees to “break down social cohesion all over the world,” McGuire, co-author of “The Babylon Code: Solving the Bible’s Greatest End Times Mystery,” told WND, setting the stage for mass unrest. When the violence becomes unbearable, the solution will be police-state crackdowns.
Germany has also seen increasingly violent protests and demonstrations on both sides of the refugee issue, scenes that, again, are never shown on the nightly news in America.
“They’re using refugees in Germany to take over towns and cities. And here in U.S., they’re using refugees to wage war on the social cohesion of our society. So they’re going to slam-dunk the global government, and it will be a terrorist attack or financial crisis that triggers it,” McGuire said.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, left-wing activists came forward to accuse Swedish police of racism – the exact same scenario that played out in Ferguson in 2014 and Baltimore in 2015.
Protests turned violent Sunday in a northwestern Stockholm suburb of Husby – where more than 80 percent of the residents are from overseas, mostly Turkey, Somalia and the Middle East, the British daily reported, adding that “Trouble then spread to some of the city’s most deprived areas, shattering the country’s proud claim that it is a template for a successful and ethnically diverse society.”
But it’s not the first time riots have erupted in Swedish cities. Similar violence has broken out in 2013, 2014 and last month.

Lars Bystrom, a Stockholm police spokesman, told the Mail that “fires are mainly lit to lure the police to the scene, who are then attacked.”
He admitted officers have been forced to change their tactics, saying: “Now if there is a small fire that is not likely to spread, and there is no risk to life, we will send out a patrol and keep an eye on it from a distance.
“But we are not going to bring in the fire brigade unless it’s really dangerous.”
The attacks on emergency service workers have led to private security companies telling employees to stay at home, as mobs have started attacking anyone wearing a uniform.
Several public transport routes have also been canceled after rioters started hurling petrol bombs at buses.
The Foreign Office and the U.S. Embassy have warned visitors to stay away from certain suburbs.
Government leaders have been “stunned” by the ferocity of the violence in a country which has long been touted as a paragon of social justice.
For decades, supporters of multiculturalism have pointed to Sweden as a classic example of a society which allows immigrants to continue practicing their own culture while living peacefully alongside their host communities.
Around 15 percent of Sweden’s 9.5 million inhabitants were born outside the country.
The second largest group of immigrants, after the Finns, are Iraqis – numbering more than 125,000. Former Yugoslavs total over 160,000 and Iranians almost 65,000.

Dana PERINO: Which is one of reasons I expressed frustration yesterday. And that all the things that the judge has said are true and accurate and fact. And just saying that well, we're going to end birthright citizenship, doesn't mean that you -- are going to do it. Now maybe that's OK with people. They just want like hear things that make them feel good for a half a minute, but I actually take things a little bit more seriously. And the judge is right. I mean, you have all -- if you -- if it is true that there are 11 million illegals here, we have a huge problem. I think the frustration is actually that the immigration system is what's really broken. And I think the Jeff Sessions, the senator there, has a lot of good points. I mean the H-1B visa program where there are like high tech workers that come here. That actually, one of the problems is that you get -- you can't -- it's hard to deal with the system. The bureaucracy is outrageous. And perhaps, there can be an agreement on how to deal with that. But the citizenship issue, the birthright citizenship is something that the Supreme Court is not going to change it. And a constitutional amendment is just not possible.
WATTERS: Well, a few actual republican candidates in this race right now, have proposed constitutional amendments on the Supreme Court, on abortion, and on gay marriage. So it's not totally out of the mainstream to do that, number one. Number two.Dana: You think a gay marriage constitutional amendment is actually going to happen?

Federal judge temporarily blocks Obama's immigration executive action

A federal judge has granted a request by 26 states to
temporarily block President Obama's executive action on illegal
immigration, allowing a lawsuit aimed at permanently stopping the orders
to make its way through the courts.
U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen granted the preliminary injunction Monday
after hearing arguments in Brownsville, Texas last month. He wrote in a
memorandum accompanying his order that the lawsuit should go forward
and that without a preliminary injunction the states will "suffer
irreparable harm in this case."
"The genie would be impossible to put back into the bottle," he
wrote, adding that he agreed with the plaintiffs' argument that
legalizing the presence of millions of people is a "virtually
irreversible" action.
The first of Obama's orders -- to expand a program that protects
young immigrants from deportation if they were brought to the U.S.
illegally as children -- was set to start taking effect Wednesday. The
other major part of Obama's order, which extends deportation protections
to parents of U.S. citizens and permanent residents who have been in
the country for some years, was not expected to begin until May 19.
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest, in a statement, reiterated
the administration's position that Obama's executive actions were within
the bounds of the law -- and indicated they would appeal.
"The Supreme Court and Congress have made clear that the federal
government can set priorities in enforcing our immigration laws-which is
exactly what the President did when he announced commonsense policies
to help fix our broken immigration system," Earnest said, later adding
"The district court's decision wrongly prevents these lawful,
commonsense policies from taking effect and the Department of Justice
has indicated that it will appeal that decision."
An appeal by the administration would be handled by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans.
House and Senate Republican leaders pointed to the judge's decision
in amplifying calls to advance a stalled bill that would both fund the
Homeland Security department and undo Obama's immigration plan. The
GOP-authored bill passed the House, but is stuck in the Senate. "This
ruling underscores what the President has already acknowledged publicly
22 times: He doesn't have the authority to take the kinds of actions he
once referred to as 'ignoring the law' and 'unwise and unfair,'" Senate
Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said in a statement. "Senate
Democrats -- especially those who've voiced opposition to the
President's executive overreach -- should end their partisan filibuster
of Department of Homeland Security funding."
Hanen, who's been on the federal court since 2002 after being
nominated by President George W. Bush, regularly handles border cases
but wasn't known for being outspoken on immigration until a 2013 case.
In his ruling in that case, Hanen suggested the Homeland Security
Department should be arresting parents living in the U.S. illegally who
induce their children to cross the border illegally.
The coalition, led by Texas and made up of mostly conservative states
in the South and Midwest, argues that Obama has violated the "Take Care
Clause" of the U.S. Constitution, which they say limits the scope of
presidential power. They also say the order will force increased
investment in law enforcement, health care and education.
"Judge Hanen's decision rightly stops the President's overreach in its tracks," Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said in a statement.
In their request for the injunction, the coalition said it was
necessary because it would be "difficult or impossible to undo the
President's lawlessness after the Defendants start granting applications
for deferred action."
Congressional Republicans have vowed to block Obama's actions on
immigration by cutting off Homeland Security Department spending for the
program. Earlier this year, the Republican-controlled House passed a
$39.7 billion spending bill to fund the department through the end of
the budget year, but attached language to undo Obama's executive
actions. The fate of that House-passed bill is unclear as Republicans in
the Senate are six votes shy of the 60-vote majority needed to advance
most legislation.
Others supporting Obama's executive order include a group of 12
mostly liberal states, including Washington and California, as well as
the District of Columbia. They filed a motion with Hanen in support of
Obama, arguing the directives will substantially benefit states and will
further the public interest.
A group of law enforcement officials, including the Major Cities
Chiefs Association and more than 20 police chiefs and sheriffs from
across the country, also filed a motion in support, arguing the
executive action will improve public safety by encouraging cooperation
between police and individuals with concerns about their immigration
status.
Fox News, Google Pick 1994 Illegal Immigrant Dulce Candy To Ask Question In Iowa GOP Debate
A 1994 illegal immigrant has been picked by Google and Fox to deliver a question to the GOP 2016 candidates in Thursday’s Iowa debate.
The choice was likely intended to hit
Donald Trump, whose proposed immigration reform is opposed by many
company executives, including executives in Google and Fox. But any
question on immigration will also hit the other GOP candidates, who are
trying to balance the competing demands of business donors for more
wage-cutting legal and illegal immigration, versus the voters’
overwhelming demand for increased wages and salaries.
The questioner, Dulce Candy, is a young,
well-spoken, attractive and successful Latino who provides advice about
make-up to young women on YouTube in exchange for payments from
advertisers.
In a 2013 video, she says she was born in
Mexico but crossed the U.S.-Mexican border — through a river and over a
fence —with her mother and siblings in 1994, when she was six. Her
father was an agricultural laborer working for Californian companies.
“We jumped fences… there was a guy
helping us out, and we were just staring at the fence… some random guys
trying help us cross the border, but we also crossed a river in the
middle of the night…. some guy would carry us on his shoulder to the
other side,” she said.
Her video did not explain if, or how, Candy won residency and citizenship.
She did join the U.S. Army in 2006, and served for 15 months in Iraq as a mechanic and driver.
The 2013 revelation that Candy came into the country illegally spurred some criticism among her peers. “It’s not fair that they all get to break the law repetitively for free while Americans get punished when we commit crimes,” according to a comment from Kimberly West, a commenter on LipstickAlley.com.

Communications in Los Angeles, did not respond to an email from
Breitbart. However, on Tuesday, a person told Breitbart that the “YouTube
creators were selected in collaboration with Fox based on things such
as audience size and their ability to bring a new, fresh perspective to
the most important issues of our time. Fox informed the party/candidates
of the format.”
Allison Moore, a press secretary for the RNC, told Breitbart that “We had nothing to do” with the choice of another YouTube questioner for the same debate. But neither she, nor Irena Briganti, a spokeswoman for Fox, responded when asked about the selection of the 1994 illegal immigrant.
The choice of a Latino illegal-immigrant questioner was
made by Google and Fox, whose top executives support increased
white-collar and blue-collar migration into the United States.
In March 2015, for
example, Google chairman Eric Schmidt told an audience in Washington
D.C. that the U.S. government should import more customers to offset the
slow growth of the population in the United States.
In Japan, the population is expected to drop from 120 million to 80 million, Schmidt said. “Most
stock markets assume modest [population] growth… so how are you over a
couple of decades to deal with the fact that one third of your customers
[in Japan] are going to go away? Well, one [way] is produce more
customers through immigration,” he said.
Each year, roughly 4 million young Americans begin looking
for jobs. But the federal government also imports roughly 1 million
legal immigrants, plus roughly 700,000 temporary white-collar and
blue-collar non-agricultural workers, and it does little to stop new
illegal migrants, or to repatriate the resident population of roughly 11
million illegal migrants. The extra annual inflow of labor has helped
keep Americans’ income flat for many years.
The value of immigrants’ spending-power to companies is greatly boosted by welfare-payments
from American taxpayers. Thus large-scale immigration reduces
Americans’ income and increases their taxes, while also increasing
companies’ profits and stock-values.
Schmidt did acknowledge two other
alternatives to mass-immigration into the United States, saying his
future business-problem can be fixed by “more children… [or] you can
export” to foreign customers. But “I’m one of these people who think we are better off having more immigration than less,” he said.
Schmidt, a close advisor to President Barack Obama, did not address immigration’s impact on federal welfare-spending or on Americans’ wages or on American politics.
Schmidt also called for a greater inflow
of foreign-graduates into U.S. workplaces via the controversial H-1B
visa program. In private, ”everyone [in Washington] actually agrees
there ought to be more H-1Bs… everyone agrees, in both parties,” he
declared. Currently, roughly 650,000 H-1B foreign professionals are holding jobs in the United States, and are competing down wages for Americans’ white-collar professionals.
The owner of Fox News,
Rupert Murdoch, also wants more immigrants to serve as customers and
lower-wage workers, especially for white-collar jobs where American
professionals can still earn a good living. In a June 2014 article in the Wall Street Journal, Murdoch called for an unlimited inflow of foreign professionals.
We need to do away with the cap on H-1B visas, which is arbitrary and results in U.S. companies struggling to find the high-skill workers they need to continue growing. We already know that most of the applications for these visas are for computer programmers and engineers, where there is a shortage of qualified American candidates.
In contrast, Trump has said migrants should be sent home, and he has also called for a reform of the H-1B program that would reduce the inflow of foreign graduates by forcing companies to pay a higher-wage to foreign workers.
Raising the prevailing wage paid to H-1Bs will force companies to give these coveted entry-level jobs to the existing domestic pool of unemployed native and immigrant workers in the U.S., instead of flying in cheaper workers from overseas. This will improve the number of black, Hispanic and female workers in Silicon Valley who have been passed over in favor of the H-1B program.
One of the other YouTube personalities picked by Fox and Google is an Islamic advocate.
The pro-Islam advocate, Nebela Noor,
used a video to argue that Donald Trump, a New York real-estate
developer, is in agreement with Adolf Hitler, the national-socialist
dictator of Germany who started World World 2, and killed roughly 50
million people, including 6 million Jews and roughly 25 million
