Ted Cruz Proposes Three-Year Ban on Refugees From Islamic State- and Al Qaeda-Controlled Countries, Refuses to Attack Trump

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz outlined Tuesday three pieces of legislation he thinks will keep Americans safe from threats by the Islamic State exploiting an influx of Syrian refugees — and dodged every opportunity to attack Donald Trump over GOP front-runner’s widely derided plan to ban Muslims from entry to the U.S.
When asked about Trump’s statement Monday calling for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States,” the Texas senator said that he disagreed with that proposal but that he won’t be an “ongoing theater critic” for every comment made by another presidential candidate.
“A lot of our friends here have encouraged me to criticize and attack Donald Trump, I’m not interested in doing so,” Cruz said. “But I believe we need a plan that is focused on the direct threat, and the threat we’re facing is radical Islamic terrorism.”
When asked whether he thinks Trump’s call to exclude a people group based on their religion is constitutional, Cruz dodged the question, saying instead that he’s focused on his own policies and solutions.
“Certainly in the media there’s been no shortage of criticism of Donald Trump,” Cruz said. “I do not believe the world needs my voice added to that chorus of critics.”

When asked if he would support Trump if he wins the Republican primary, Cruz said that he’d support any Republican nominee — but he hopes to be the nominee himself.
“I recognize that a great many folks in the media would prefer that anyone running for president would engage as an ongoing theater critic, criticizing the proposals of others,” he said. “I do not agree with his proposal. I do not think it is the right solution. And the right solution I believe is the legislation that I’ve introduced.”
Earlier in the press conference, Cruz introduced a bill to impose a three-year moratorium on refugees from countries where the Islamic State or Al Qaeda controls a “substantial amount” of territory.
“The reason is simple: We have been told by the FBI they cannot vet these refugees, and our first obligation should be protecting our national security,” Cruz said at a news conference Tuesday morning on Capitol Hill.
A second new provision Cruz urged leaders in Congress to “pass immediately” is an opt-out option for state governors to decide not to allow refugees into their states, despite President Barack Obama’s executive direction that they do so. Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott joined Cruz at the press conference and said that Cruz’s legislation will make it possible for him to protect his state’s citizens.
About 30 governors — Democrats and Republicans — have said they don’t want to resettle Syrian refugees in their states, Cruz said. “Those officials are doing their jobs. They’re honoring their commitments to the men and women who elected them. We need a president who will do the same.”
Cruz also touted his Expatriate Terrorist Act, which he introduced last month but was blocked by Democrats on Capitol Hill. The bill would change current law to say that Americans who join forces with terrorists overseas will forfeit their U.S. citizenship.
“We should not be allowing ISIS terrorists to come into America with a U.S. passport and wage jihad against innocent citizens,” he said. Cruz called his legislative proposals “reasonable, common-sense steps” to keep Americans safe.
“We know our top obligation is doing everything possible to prevent another terrorist attack, to prevent another San Bernardino attack,” he said. “Because as long as the federal government is not doing its job, we know there will be another and another and another.”

Ted Cruz Unexpectedly Goes Off on CNBC Debate Moderator Over Phrasing of Question: ‘I’m Not Finished Yet’

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) sparked one of the more contentious moments of Wednesday night’s GOP debate when he took issue with the way CNBC’s Carl Quintanilla phrased a question on the budget deal struck by President Barack Obama and Congress.

CNBC
CNBC
“Congressional Republicans, Democrats and the White House are about to strike a compromise that would raise the debt limit, prevent a government shutdown and calm financial markets that fear another Washington-created crisis is on the way,” Quintanilla said. “Does your opposition to it show that you’re not the kind of problem solver American voters want?”
Cruz declined to immediately answer the question and instead addressed the questions that had been asked during the debate.
“The questions that have been asked so far in this debate illustrate why the American people don’t trust the media,” Cruz said. “This is not a cage match. And you look at the questions: ‘Donald Trump, are you a comic book villain?,’ ‘Ben Carson, can you do math?,’ ‘John Kasich, will you insult two people over here?,’ ‘Marco Rubio, why don’t you resign?,’ ‘Jeb Bush, why have your numbers fallen?’”
He then added for emphasis, “How about talking about the substantive issues people care about?”
The debate audience responded to Cruz’s attack on the CNBC debate moderators with a strong round of applause.
Cruz cut off Quintanilla when he claimed his budget question was about a substantive issue, pointing out the “contrast” between how moderators treat Democrats versus Republicans during debates.
“Carl, I’m not finished yet,” he said. “The contrast of the Democratic debate, where every fawning question from the media was, ‘Which of you is more handsome and wise?’”
The Texas senator also argued that the field of GOP candidates have “more ideas, more experience, more common sense” than all of the Democratic candidates.
“And nobody watching at home believes that any of the moderators have any intention of voting in a Republican primary,” he added. “The questions that are being asked shouldn’t be trying to get people to tear into each other.”

Executive Order 13603 – The oabamama Regime authorizes SLAVE LABOR on a large scale on American soil.

President of obama nataion signed his own executive order which allowed for the President to enact slave labor, on a large scale, on American soil.
For the Americans who have been targeted for FEMA camp detention, most will voluntarily self-incarcerate in order to avoid starvation for both them and their families. The following excepts from EO 13603 will be enacted.
Third world population control, using food as one of the primary weapons, has long been a matter of official covert US national policy and a portion of President Obama’s Executive Order (EO 13603) is a continuation of that policy. Americans will be the new third world and your food will be withheld in order to enforce compliance with the planned slave labor in support of the WW III production needs.
Most Americans will report for duty on a voluntary basis in order to avoid starvation. Duty for what?
Slave Labor Force

According to Executive Order 13603, the President, or the head of any federal agency that he shall designate, can conscript “persons of outstanding experience and ability without compensation,” in both “peacetime and times of national emergency.” I can hear the Obama supporters now as they will write to me and say, “Obama would never do that, you are drinking from the Kool-Aid”. Well, here it is, you can read it for yourself.

Sec. 502. Consultants. The head of each agency otherwise delegated functions under this order is delegated the authority of the President under sections 710(b) and (c) of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2160(b), (c), to employ persons of outstanding experience and ability without compensation and to employ experts, consultants, or organizations. The authority delegated by this section may not be redelegated.
This means that Obama, and his fellow communists, can seize any resource, property, or person at any time for any reason, including being able to force that person to perform assigned labor without being paid.
There is only ONE word for forced, “uncompensated employment”. That word is slavery. Congratulations to President Obama, he has effectively repealed the 13th Amendment to the Constitution.
Section 601 of the act specifies, in part, how far the government can go in terms of making you their slave.
Sec. 601. Secretary of Labor. (a) The Secretary of Labor, in coordination with the Secretary of Defense and the heads of other agencies, as deemed appropriate by the Secretary of Labor, shall:

(1) collect and maintain data necessary to make a continuing appraisal of the Nation’s workforce needs for purposes of national defense;
(2) upon request by the Director of Selective Service, and in coordination with the Secretary of Defense, assist the Director of Selective Service in development of policies regulating the induction and deferment of persons for duty in the armed services;
(3) upon request from the head of an agency with authority under this order, consult with that agency with respect to: (i) the effect of contemplated actions on labor demand and utilization; (ii) the relation of labor demand to materials and facilities requirements; and (iii) such other matters as will assist in making the exercise of priority and allocations functions consistent with effective utilization and distribution of labor;
(4) upon request from the head of an agency with authority under this order: (i) formulate plans, programs, and policies for meeting the labor requirements of actions to be taken for national defense purposes; and
(ii) estimate training needs to help address national defense requirements and promote necessary and appropriate training programs.

On this day in 1781, British General Lord Charles Cornwallis surrendered
to American General George Washington, bringing an end to the Siege of
Yorktown and effectively ending the American Revolution. Negotiations
for that surrender had begun after Cornwallis first raised a white flag
of surrender two days earlier, on October 17.

Americans had won an impossible victory!

They had been fighting for
6.5 long years—ever since the Battles of Lexington and Concord in April
1775. Their revolution was fought against a very powerful British
military. Often, the Americans had survived on sheer guts and
perseverance. They lacked funds. They lacked military supplies. They
suffered through long, cold winters. They lost soldiers to small pox.
Sometimes, even their basic needs—food, shoes and clothes—went unmet.

Through it all, Washington held the army together. Yes, he made
strategic errors, and he has been criticized for it. There are
undoubtedly military leaders with better qualifications or better
tactical skills. However, few men could have done what Washington did as
a leader. Washington held his army together, through all their
difficulties, through sheer strength of will. His men loved, revered,
and trusted him. For Americans, he was the right man in the right place
at the right time.

Washington himself viewed the victory as a
miracle. The day after Cornwallis's surrender, he issued the following
general orders to his troops:

"Divine Service is to be
performed tomorrow in the several Brigades or Divisions. The Commander
in Chief earnestly recommends that the troops not on duty should
universally attend with that seriousness of Deportment and gratitude of
Heart which the recognition of such reiterated and astonishing
interpositions of Providence demand of us."

Today, then, is the anniversary of a miracle. Let's celebrate and defend the freedom that was achieved for us that day.

Lincoln Bishop's home burglarized, cross stolen

Posted By: Sarah Fili, Courtesy J.D. Flynn spokesman for the Diocese of Lincoln.

sfili@klkntv.com

According to Police, on Saturday, October 10th,
Lincoln Bishop James Conley’s home was burglarized at approximately
1:30 in the afternoon.  A tripped alarm alerted diocesan officials, and
the Lincoln Police Department, to the break-in.  Conley was not in the
home at the time of the burglary.
According
to the Diocese of Lincoln, the sole item stolen from the home was a
pectoral cross; the large ornamental cross Catholics bishops wear as a
symbol of their position in the Church.  The diocese reports that other
items of value were not stolen.
The
Lincoln Police Department has begun an investigation into the
matter.  In the meantime, Bishop Conley has asked all Catholics to “pray
for the conversion of this burglar.”
“I
pray, quite sincerely, that the thief will discover that Christ died
for him, loves him, and desires to bring him eternal joy.”
According
to Conley: “One of Christ’s last acts on the Cross was the forgiveness
of a repentant thief.  Certainly, the Church forgives the person
responsible for this crime.  God offers his mercy as well.  I ask all
Catholics to join me in praying that the thief will experience a
conversion of heart, and seek the mercy of God.”
Conley
noted that stolen cross was a personal gift given by Pope Benedict XVI
in 2012.  Because the cross was a gift, it cannot be replaced, the
diocese reported.
Conley
asked Catholics to pray that the pectoral crosses might be safely
returned.  “The cross is a treasure for the whole Diocese of
Lincoln.  It signifies the unity of our Church in Christ.  Let us pray
together that it might be returned.”
JD
Flynn, spokesman for the Diocese of Lincoln, noted that the Diocese of
Lincoln is cooperating fully with law enforcement’s
investigation.  “Forgiveness does not exclude accountability,” Flynn
said.  He also noted that the stolen cross could be returned to any
Catholic Church—even left anonymously.
Bishop
Conley pointed out that the Diocese of Lincoln offers counseling,
shelter, food, employment training, and emergency assistance to those in
financial need.  Conley expressed hope that the Church might assist the
thief.  “We care a great deal about the poor, because Jesus Christ was
poor,” Conley reported.  “I hope no one will resort to stealing because
of some poverty.  I hope people, including this thief, will know that
the Catholic Church stands eager to help in whatever way we can.”

Good morning. Executives weighing a decision to expand overseas could learn many lessons from Ford Motor Co.’s experience in China. The Detroit auto maker’s $5 billion bet on the Middle Kingdom, the world’s biggest auto market, has yet to pay off, write the WSJ’s Christina Rogers and Trefor Moss.
As Ford added more models and expanded the number of dealerships across China, the country generated profits for the company. However, the car maker’s market share declined from the sixth-largest by passenger-car sales in China in 2014 to 18th place in the first three months of this year, according to research firm LMC Automotive. Analysts attribute the drop largely to Ford’s failure to innovate and customize its cars for technology-loving Chinese customers.
Ford’s China business posted a loss in the first quarter of 2018 as the company launched a new effort to turn its China unit around. While the Chinese joint-venture operations contributed $138 million to Ford’s quarterly profit, that gain was more than offset by engineering costs for future products aimed at the local market, Ford’s finance chief said during an April earnings call.
